Here is My Movie Review of X-Men Apocalypse.

Here is my Movie Review of X-Men Apocalypse.

So basically  what happens is that You have Magneto bonding with his wife and daughter. But then a police officer gunned down Magneto's wife and daughter. Now he wants revenge on the humans who took his family away from him. Then you have this mutant Apocalypse who wants to get into the mind of Charles Xavier and wants to get his telepathic abilities in order to become the most powerful mutant. It is up to the X-Men to take down Apocalypse. That is basically what the story is for this mass of a movie.

Now The acting In this movie could have been really good if it had a good script and I think that the problem with these newer X-Men movies they have good actors but they don't really give them good lines of dialogue to say they give them really dumb dialogue.

James McAvoy is still decent as Charles Xavier Because even parts were this movie is not working James McAvoy is still entertaining at the character. Now Charles Xavier out of the character is not as dumb as in dark Phoenix because in that film that kind of them which was so dumb and this film he's just kind of boring because well there's some interesting ideas with him and there are some standout moments like the stuff with him and Magneto and I will admit the final battle weighs facing off against apocalypse and his mind is a good idea in concept and there's some good ideas that go with it it just failed and execution.

Now the only good performance of this entire film is Michael Fassbender as Magneto because even in parts where this movie is absolute garbage. Fassbender still gives a good performance in fact I will say that he's the only actor that is actually having fun in this film. Now well I did say that Michael Fassbender is really great as Magneto. Now the character of Magneto that is a different story because this movie they make Magneto really stupid because he teams up with Apocalypse even though in the comics he hates Apocalypse he'll never team up with him he always fights against him to protect mutants and this one gets to go the long with Apocalypse because the movie wanted him to be evil For no reason. Now I will admit you do feel bad for Magneto because he lost his family and now staying with his wife and daughter is the best thing in this entire movie. But let's get the worst thing with Magneto and I will say it is dumber than the scene in X3 where Magneto screams Charles and that is Magneto saying the word fuck and I don't know why they have Magneto say it because Magneto never said a bad word in the comics but for some reason they say oh Deadpool came out so let's have another mutant us foul language and it's so weird and out of character it felt like a really bad joke from an early 2000s comic book film. The chemistry between him and James McAvoy is decent because when the film focuses around them it's not too bad but it doesn't hide the fact that their dialogue is not really good.

Selfie Turner is still awful as Jean Gray. I didn't really care for Jean Green in this movie and she just feels really bored in this movie. I really wish that they got the original actress back for Jean Gray Famke Janssen. I think that would have been a way better choice and He seemed interested in coming back. Fun fact Famke Janssen wanted to come back as Jean Gray but the studio said she's too old and she said that it was against them to replace her. I think if she came back and play the character of Jean Gray it would have made the film a lot better and more watchable.  The chemistry between her and James McAvoy is not believable. I think the chemistry between   Famke Janssen and Patrick Stewart is a lot more believable.

Tye Sharon plays Cyclops in the film and his performance it just comes off really flat. In fact i would say that this is probably Ty Shannon's worst performance because it doesn't really emote in the film and what's really sad is that he had a great actor I liked him in Ray player 1 and Wade but we watch him in the vaccine movies you can't help to think i don't think he's really into doing these films and I mean as much as I didn't like Jame Marsden at Cyclops I would argue that one slightly more developed and a lot more interesting. Then this interpretation of the character.

Now well I do say that the acting is bad. That is nothing to the absolute worst performance in the entire X-Men movie franchise and that performance is Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse because he's just over the top and silly. But there are moments Oscar Isaac does come off very intimidating is trying to give a good performance but he's just miscast I just think that this drug tested like idris Elba or Gary Oldman because as miscast as that would be I think Gary Oldman would have made a lot more sense because he has played a lot villains and I think Gary Oldman can make Apocalypse more scary. Now the character of apocalypse it's just really weird because he is accurate to the comics in terms of the design. But the problem is he's not big enough even when they do make him big in the climax he's still not gigantic and in terms of his personality they kind of make apocalypse really dumb like there's moments of him being smart but in the comics and in the X-Men anime series he's very intelligent find this film that kind of dumb him down. Now is he the worst villain of 2016? No, that honor goes to Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luther in Batman versus Superman Dawn of Justice. But the performance is really cheesy because  Oscar Isaac goes way too over the top and is just really cringe worthy. But I would say this as much as I hate this performance. It is a masterpiece compared to Jesse Eisenberg's performance as Lex Luther in Batman versus Superman: Dawn Justice. Probably the dumbest scene is where Apocalypse is making a speech and he's screaming a lot. It is probably the most unintentionally funniest scene in this entire movie. Now there is one moment that I actually don't really hate and that had the scene where him and Charles Xavier are Fighting Inside of his mind in the astral plane and I do like that idea the idea of having it take place in inside of Charles's mind But the problem is they don't really do a lot with it they do some stuff with that but it failed and execution. Also Not even the makeup and the prosthesis look good because it looks like something out of Batman and Robin that's how bad the makeup and prosthesis are for Apocalypse. Also in this movie for some weird reason Apocalypse doesn't really have four horsemen like he does in the comics because in this movie they decide to make Storm and Magneto as his horsemen. I'm going to say that this is without a doubt Oscar Isaac's worst performance he has ever done, and what really disappointing is because Oscar Isaac is a really great actor. But luckily he redeemed himself by playing Moon-Knight in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fun fact actors like Tom Hardy, Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman, Nicolas Cage, Dwayne Johnson, Liam Neeson, Samuel L Jackson, Mads Mikkelsen, Ron Perlman, Edgar Ramirez, Liam Neeson, Antonio Banderas, Jason Momoa, Michael Fassbender, Sean Bean, Matthew McConaughey, Javier Bardem, Viggo Mortensen, David Oylowo, Mel Gibson, and Idris Elba were considered to play Apocalypse.

Now you think that since the film is directed by Brian Singer you think I like this movie.  Well I'm sorry to  say this is probably his worst directed X-Men movie he has ever directed because it feels like he doesn't know what the X-Men are anymore because at least in the first two X-Men movies were released back in the 2000s the stuff he put in the film were all accurate to the comics. But in this one he barely made anything accurate to the comics and everything a mess because he thinks Apocalypse sounding like Nicolas Cage is entertaining but it's really not. What's really strange is that this is the same guy who directed X-Men and X2 X-Men united and those films were way more entertaining than this waste of entertainment.

The special effects in this movie are the worst special effects I have ever seen in an X-Men movie. Yes I said I think the effects in this movie are worse than X-Men Origins Wolverine because they live with that movie the special effects were bad but you could tell the filmmakers were actually trying to make a decent  X-Men. The budget of this movie is 178 million dollars. But the budget feels like $9.00.

So in conclusion i still did not like this film I think it's boring the storyline is just not that interesting because nothing much really happens because this film just dragged along until it gets to the end credits that's how I can summarize the story it's just filler. The performance that are also bad because most of the actor just feel like they don't really give a shit the only one I sort of liked was Michael Fassbender because he had the only actor that was actually trying to give a good performance he just The really horrible writing and the dialogue but I think overall he did the best he could as Magneto. Also Apocalypse as a villain is just not that interesting what are the worst comic to movie adaptations of all time because apocalypse's just really badly written and they're like scenes of him like screaming at the top of his lungs and that scene where he is giving this religious speech and it's supposed to be a serious moment but due to Oscar Isaac's awful performance it comes off as laughable and silly. Now the climax in this film was a interesting idea this idea that it takes place inside of Charles's mind And some of it does work but it's just kind of disappointing because they don't do a lot with it now I will say the file battle in this film is a lot better than the file battle in Madame Web. Not to mention this is one of my least favorite X-Men films all time because again nothing much happens. This is easily in my top five worst films of 2016. I say just skip this movie go watch Deadpool and Wolverine it's a lot more funnier and the storyline is way better. I give this movie a 3/10.
