Here is My Movie Review of The Amazing Spider-Man 2
So basically what happens is that it takes place after the first movie and you have Peter Parker / Spider-Man Who wants to find out more about his parents. Then you have this guy named Maxwell Dylen and he is a fan of Spider Man. But once when Spider-Man gets more attention than he starts to heat him. Then you have Harry Osborn find out that he has a disease and he needs Spider-Man's blood to cure him but Spider-Man says no And then Harry becomes the Green Goblin. It is up to Spider-Man to take down Green Goblin, Electro, and the Rhino. That is basically the story for this movie. Now I will say that the story is messy but it's not as bad as Spider-Man 3 I think that movie had a lot more problems it's a lot more dumber enter the cheesiness and some of the ridiculous moments in that film
The acting In this film rethinking about it I don't think it is as bad as I thought was now yeah there is a couple bad performances but I think this movie has better acting than craving the hunter from 2024 that movie had horrible acting throughout and that one you can't even say that all the actors are trying their best because really none of them were trying in that film with this film you can say they are trying they just need a better script.
Andrew Garfield Play Peter Parker / Spider-Man in the film in his performance it probably even better than it was in the first film because then the first film you was really awesome but in this film here the lot better because he give them more captivating and terrific performance as this character. Now the character of Peter Parker / Spider-Man is relatively the same as he was in the first film you know he's still cared about Gwen Stacy he still cares about people in New York and wants to protect them. The scenes with Peter Parker / Spider-Man really fun and really entertaining whether it is the scene of him trying to save Gwen Stacy from falling to her death In the Clock Tower or him Battling Electro it doesn't lead to some really emotional and some really entertaining moments throughout the film.
Emma Stone Comes back as Gwen Stacy In the film and her performance is still terrific she's just as entertaining as she was in the first film And they give her a lot more to do in this film than she then the first film. Now the character of Gwen Stacy is still relatively the same she still cares about Peter Parker / Spider-Man and She is still coping with the Lost of her father Captain Stacy who died in the first film. To be honest I think the moments with Gwen Stacy and Peter Parker / spider-Man bonding or the strongest moments of the entire film because they have such a Perfect chemistry with each other. Now Having her die in the film what a strange choice because they should have wait until the third movie to kill her. Now the scene when she dies in Peter Parker / man breaks down crying is the saddest moment in the entire film and it does work for this film because they wanted to give Spider-Man an emotional and traffic moment it does work Because they do feel bad for Peter Parker / Spider-Man because he really cared about and really loved Gwen Stacy. The chemistry between her and Andrew Garfield is terrific.
Now Jamie Foxx in this movie as Maxwell Dillon/ Electro In the film and rethinking about it I don't think his performance is that bad is actually still fun and really entertained to watch now yes the writing needed to be better. But I will say though he's better written than The Chameleon from Kraven the Hunter because that character is horribly written. Now the character of Max Dylan/Electro it's really interesting because you really feel bad from because he If constantly getting ignored people don't really respect him he essentially gets tree like garbage so you can kind of understand why he turns evil and becomes Electro and rethink about the voice that he has in this film does not sound as bad because It does make him a lot more intimidating even though it's a little bit distracting. But it's not as distracting as James Bader is as Ultron in Avengers Age Of Ultron because with that performance i didn't really see Ultron I just thought James Spader playing himself. The scenes with Electro are really entertaining whether it is the scene of him turning into Electro or him meeting Spider-Man and idle I to him with him in his house with all this Spider-Man photos and merchandise that he had of him it does lead to some really entertaining and some really fun moments throughout the film. Fun fact actors like Jean Dujardin, Damian Lewis, Lance Henricksen, Mads Mikkelse, John C Riley, Shia LaBeouf, Matthew McConaughey, Zach Galifiankis, Ethan Hawke, Matthew McConaughey, Eddie Redmayne, Joaquin Phoenix, Terrence Howard, Chris Brown, Idris Elba, Chris Ludacris Bridges, Don Cheadle, and Samuel L Jackson were all considered to play Electro.
New Dane DeHaan plays Harry Osborn / Green Goblin It's really interesting because I think where he plays Harry Osborne I think he's really terrific in the film and I kind of wish that he didn't become Green Goblin in this film I think they should have saved it for a third film. But when he turns into Green Goblin in the film i just think His performance was really weird because it felt like he was acting in a completely different movie Because I get what they're trying to do trying to show how crazy Harry has become after becoming the Green Goblin but just didn't work out as well as it should have. Now the character of Harry Osbourne / Green Goblin Is really interesting because I do think the first half of this movie he's actually entertaining and to be complete with honest I actually liked the bonding between him and Peter Parker / Spider-Man I think Those moments are the strongest of the entire film And I will say I think Harry was born in this film is better than Harry was in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy because James Franco he wasn't bad he was just really dull in the role. well Dane DeHaan felt like he was having a lot more fun in the film. Now as much as I like the Harry Osborne side of this character the Green Goblin side not so much because it's just not as interesting as Willem Dafoe was as Green Goblin in Spider-Man and Spider-Man no way home because that character had more of a personality and well he was crazy he was also really smart but this interpretation of the Goblin is just crazy without being super intelligent. Fun fact actors like Michael B Jordan, Alden Ehrenreich, Brady Corbet, Eddie Redmayne, Sam Clifin, Douglas Booth, and Boyd Holbrook were all considered to play Green Goblin.
Now well I said that the performances we're not perfect because the writing need to be better Because they're at least entertaining to watch because none of them I can say are as bad as Paul Giamatti as the Rhino. This has got to be one of the worst Spider-Man movie villains ever made. I just feel like Sony wanted to cast Nicolas Cage as the Rhino because He is just way too over the top, way too cartoony to take seriously. Even the design for the Rhino in the ending of the film it looks so awful It is really stupid. Also you didn't really need Rhino Or the Green Goblin Electro was good enough. Fun fact actors like Dwayne Johnson, Vin Diesel, Josh Brolin, John C Riley, Vigo Mortensen, Ray Stevenson were all considered to play the Rhino. The rivalry between him and Spider-Man is so stupid. The Rhino was so awful that Spider-Man No Way Home actually makes fun of him It's like they acknowledge that the Rhino was a bad idea from the start.
Now The directing by Mark Webb Is really interesting because i don't think he did a horrible job directing this film he does get a lot of stuff right for example the relationship between Gwen Stacy and Spider-Man that is accurate to the comics because in the comics they really cared and loved for each other And even when she died in the film he does make it comic book accurate The one that he Does change is that she dies in the Clock Tower instead of falling off the bridge but I didn't really mind that change because you wanted have the theme of you can't stop time because time will keep going. Although I do think he did a decent job Developing the character of Harry Osborne before he turned into the Green Goblin. But I think having him turn into the Green Goblin was a little weird but I think that was monthly a stereo thing so it wasn't really Mark Webb´s font it was mostly the studio forcing him to put Green Goblin in this movie. But overall I think he did a pretty decent job directing this film because I also like how he developed the character of Max Dylan/Electro pretty well because I did like how he made him kind of idolize Spider-Man and turned against him when he kind of ignored him and shut him out I thought that was a great idea and he does execute it really well in this film.
