Here is my TV show review of Daredevil
So basically what happens is that it tells the origin story of how Matt Murdock became Daredevil and he has to deal with the loss of his father. Then you have Wilson Fisk/Kingpin Who wants to become the leader of the criminal underworld. So it is up to Matt Murdock/Daredevil to take down Wilson Fisk / Kingpin That is basically what the story is for this show.
The acting in the show is tremendous because I think this is the best active show of all time because all the actors are magnificent when cast as these iconic Marvel characters and you can tell that Marvel really did their research when they cast them at these really complex and really interesting characters. I think the acting in this show is up there with The Penguin as one of the best acted shows of all time.
Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock / Daredevil In the show. He still does a glorious job as this character because he that gives such a raw and captivating performance in the show. Now the character of Matt Murdock/ daredevil is perfect because unlike the 2003 interpretation of the character this one did not crack any dumb jokes and he is really serious his backstory is just like how it is in the comics. Also there's a lot of Stand Out moments With Matt Murdock /Daredevil Whether it's the scene of him talking to Kingpin in the present or him Coping with the Lost of his father all of the moments are some of the best moments in the MCU. The chemistry between him and Deborah Ann Woll, Eldon Hansen, John Bernthal, Vincent D'Onofrio, Wilson Bethel, Elodie Yung, and Scott Glenn. It is still really great.
Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page in the show. I have to say she gives one of the more powerful and exquisite performances in the show. Now the character of Karen Page is really accurate to her counterpart she really cared about Matt Murdock / Daredevil and want to make the city better And so that she really cares about Foggy Nelson as well. although the bonding between the three of them is the strongest aspect of the entire show. The thing where Karen Page had to watch that priest get killed by Bulldog it was the hardest moments to watch because she really cared about that praise and when she hugs him and she starts to break down and cry it is what a saddest moments of the entire show. The chemistry between her and Charlie Cox is still terrific.
Elden Hensen as Foggy Nelson In this show. I have to say his performance is really captivating and really entertaining because you can tell that he is having a lot of fun as this character. Now the character of foggy Nelson is really accurate to his character from the comics because he is Matt Murdock's / Daredevil´s best friend and I do think they handled their chemistry perfectly in the show there are several awesome moments with them just talking does lead to some of the show the more dramatic moments and entertaining moments in the show weather there are several scenes that are really memorable weather it's foggy Nelson talking in court. Or the two of them just bonding do you lead to some of the stronger and one and more emotional moments in the show. The chemistry between him and Charlie Cox is still perfect.
Scott Glenn plays Stick in the show. I have to say he still does a terrific job as the character gives one of the more emotional and one more dramatic performance in the show. now the character of stick if accurate to the comics because he and the one that trained Matt Murdock/Daredevil and he'll sort of like a father like figure because Matt Murdock /Daredevil lost his father when he was kid. also the scenes evolving the two of them talk into one another in the past and the present do you lead to some of the more powerful and heartbreaking but incredible moments of the show. Especially the part where stick tells Matt Murdock That his father died it is what a sad moments in the MCU Because he didn't want to know that his father Would eventually die. It is probably one of the saddest moments in the entire show.
John Bernthal as Frank Castle/ The Punisher in the show and I have to say out of all the actors who have played Frank Castle / The Punisher john Bernthal is easily my favorite actor who has played the character because even though I enjoyed Ray Stevenson's Punisher from Punish War Zone i do think John Bernthal just does a better job as the character now the character of Frank Castle / the Punisher is incredible because he's not really a villain because he wanted to do good he just goes about doing it in a violent way so he's more than anti-hero then a full-on villain but he does get manipulated by the Kingpin into trying to kill Daredevil before they eventually team up. Also the scenes involving Daredevil on the Punisher talking do lead to some of the more incredible and one more powerful moments in the show. The chemistry between him and Charlie Cox is still remarkable.
Elodie Yung plays Elektra Natchios in the show. I have to say she does a tremendous job as the character because you give the really captivating and magnificent performance as this character. now the character of EleKtra Natchios is a little bit different from the comics because in the comic she doesn't talk well in this show she talks a lot but they did get the relationship between her and Matt Murdock /Daredevil right because in the comics They're relationship is complicated because she loves Matt Murdock but she is task to kill him. Also Elektra ´ s origin is really interesting because much like Matt Murdock she was trained by Stick to be a skilled assassin in the evil organization known as the hand. the scenes where her and Matt Murdock/ daredevil are fighting against each other do you lead to some really awesome and intense actions especially when they are battling on the roof. The chemistry between her and Charlie Cox is still terrific.
Wilton Bethel plays Benjamin Poindexter/Bullseye in the show. I have to say he does a magnificent job as the character. Now the character of Benjamin Poindexter / Bullseye is tremendous because he is a lot better than the 2003 interpretation because that one was really dumb and Not comic book accurate at all because they gave him a Irish accent which didn't make a lot of Sense. But this one is a lot more accurate to the source of material because He was a baseball player who got bored and decided to kill the batter by Throwing the baseball at him and killing him and he became one of KingPin´s most reliable assassins. Also much like in the comics Bullseye does impersonate Daredevil in the show. The scene where Benjamin Poindexter / Bullseye is telling his origin story to the therapist does lead to a lot of really dark and really disturbing things about Benjamin Poindexter at the character and It's one of the best moments in the show it's just him talking to the therapist about his past. Although what you can view it in a different way so he's kind of like the Joker because both of them have really Different ways of them telling their ordinance stories like whether they're telling the truth or just making something up. I will say Benjamin Poindexter / Bullseye Is one of the most entertaining characters in the show.
Ayelet Zurer plays Vanessa Marianna in the show. I have to say she does a glorious job as this character because you can tell that she is having a lot of fun as this character. Now the character of Vanessa Marianna and they really interesting and complicated character because she's not evil but she does help her husband Wilson Fisk/Kingpin rise the power in the criminal underworld so even though she seems a nice she is a villain because he doesn't stop Kingpin from doing evil just go the long with it. The scene with Vanessa Marianna and Kingpin interacting dearly to some of the most interesting moments in the show especially the thing where the two of them are at a museum and they are admiring this painting. It's one more emotional moment of the show because they really do care about one another. Also the relationship between her and Kingpin is the strongest aspect of the entire show.
However the absolute big standout of the entire show is Vincent D'onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin because his performance is not only really tremendous but it is the scariest MCU villain performances because there will be time to wear Vincent D'Onofrio as quiet but then there'll be moments where he will be raising his voice as the character. also this is probably one of the most realistic MCU villain performances Indians to you because other MCU villain performance says like tom Hiddleston as Loki or Benicio Del Toro As the collector those performances are more the actual and Play more into the fantasy aspect of the MCU. Well Vincent D'Onofrio's performance is a lot more realistic and a lot disturbing. now Kingpin as a character is one of the scariest villains in the MCU because this guy you do not want to get mad because get one of his helpers to kill you or he'll do it himself. not to mention Kingpin's backstory is really disturbing and messed up because when Wilson Fisk what a kid his father always punished him by having him stare at the wall while he brutally beated his wife behind the door and one day Wilson had enough and brutally killed father with a hammer which killed him. the scene where Wilson Fisk/Kingpin confronts Matt Murdock / Daredevil and he says I wanted to make this city something better than it already is. something beautiful. You took that away from me. And now I'm going to kill you. not only a really awesome action sequence but it shows how far a Kingpin will go to complete his mission because he believes that he can make the city better than it already is. It is probably the scariest moment of the entire show. The Rivalry between him and Daredevil is tremendous Because They both have the same ideas and ideologies to make the city better Matt wants to do it in a peaceful way well Wilson Fisk wants to do it and more violent approach by killing anyone that doesn't follow the rules. Fun fact Actors like Michael Clark Duncan, Ray Winston, Billy Bob Thornton, Paul Rudd, Will Ferrell, John Malkovich, Jermaine Clement, Jack Nicholson, Gary Oldman, Eddie Izard, Zachary Levi, Paul Giamatti, Peter Dinklage, Harry Shearer, Jeff Daniels Liev Schreiber and James Gandolfini were all considered to play Kingpin.
So in conclusion this is one of the best Marvel shows of all time all the performances are really incredible because you can tell that Marvel took this shell seriously and not made everything family friendly like they would eventually do with Daredevil Born Again they sort of making Kingpin really dumb and not really interesting. But luckily in the show they kept him really dark and really scary why he is supposed to be in the comics. Also the performances are tremendous the to stand out performances are from Charlie Cox as Daredevil and Vincent D'Onofrio and Kingpin because those two actors really gets on them of captivating and one of the most entertaining performances in the MCU. Although the relationship between Matt Murdock and Karen Page is the strongest thing in this entire show the romance between them is perfect just like how it is in the comics. This is probably up there with Loki as one of my favorite Marvel shows of all time. I highly recommend you watch This show Especially if you like Jessica Jones with David Tennant. Then I'm sure you're going to love this show as well. I give this show a 10/10.
Glad you liked my review Lou. I agree with you that Vincent D'Onofrio was perfectly cast as the kingpin.
