Here is my movie review of Rise of the Guardians
So basically what the plot is that you have Jack Frost playing with some kids. but they don't see him which means they don't believe in him. then he gets abducted by two yetis and gets thrown into a portal and he arrives at the North Pole there he means the Easter Bunny, North, Sandman, and the Tooth Fairy. he wants to find out why the Man in the Moon picked him to become a guardian and he wants to find his Center. Then you have Pitch Black who wants all the children to remember him and fear Him and it's up to Jack Frost and the Guardians and Jamie and his friends to take down the boogeyman and that's basically what the plot is for this movie.
The Voice acting this movie is still great
Chris Pine voices Jack Frost In the film. I have to say he still does a fantastic job as the character. Now Jack Frost is incredible character because he go through a really powerful character arc because at first he doesn't want to be a member of the Guardians he doesn't think he is fit to be with them but as the film going on he starts to learn his true purpose and he starts to become a member of the team. The scene where Jack Frost he ask North Am I on the naughty list?" Not only was it really funny but it made sense because he didn't know what was going on. It is probably the funniest moment of the entire film. Also his backstory it's really interesting because when he was a Younger he used to go ice skating with his sister but then he fell through the ice and people thought he was gone. The chemistry between him and Alec Baldwin, Isla Fisher, Hugh Jackman, Dakota Goyo, and Jude Law is still really great. Fun fact actors like Jason Bateman, Jim Sturgess, Sam Rockwell, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Dwayne Johnson were all considered to voice Jack Frost.
Alec Baldwin voices North In the film. I have to say he still does a tremendous job as the character. Now this is a very different interpretation of Santa Claus because Santa Claus usually deliverance presents to all the kids and is very down to earth. But this Interpretation of Santa Claus battles nightmares by using two katanas And is the leader of the Guardians and he along with jack Frost and the rest of the Guardians have to take down Pitch Black. Probably the best moment with North is where he mansions to Jamie and his friends that they are losing their power they're not only was it really intense but it made sense because the children are starting to forget about the guardians. And it's probably the most powerful moment of the film. The chemistry between him and Chris Pine is exquisite. Fun fact actors like Kevin Spacey, Albert Finney, Kevin Costner, Christopher Lee, and Jeff Bridges were all considered to voice North.
Isla Fisher voices Tooth In the film. I have to say she still does a spectacular job as the character. What makes Tooth such an interesting character that she along with the rest of the guardians wants to take down Pitch Black and have all the kids believe in them again. Probably the best scene with Tooth It's where she explains to Jack Frost that they need him to take down Pitch Black So all the other children can believe in them. Not only Really interesting. But it made sense because they needed Jack Frost to help them have the children believe in them again it is probably the strongest moment of the entire film. Fun fact actresses like Geena Davis, Mandy Moore, Mia Masikowska, Maya Rudolph, and Natalia Portman were all considered to voice Tooth.
Hugh Jackman voices Bunny In the film. I have to say he still does a terrific job as the character. Now at first bunny does not like Jack Frost because he always bugs him during his Easter egg hunts and he ruined everything but at the film goes on they do get along and he along with Jack Frost and the rest of the Guardians team up to take down Pitch Black. Probably the best moment with Bunny is where he and the rest of the Guardians In Santa's sleigh and he says "where are the bloody seat belts?" and not only was it really funny but it made sense because bunny felt nauseous because the slay went really fast. It is probably the funniest moment of the entire film. Fun fact actors like Daniel Stern, Ed O ´ Neill, Eddie Redmayne, Hugh Laurie, Bill Hader, and Michael Keaton were all considered to voice Bunny. The chemistry between him and crest Pine is excellent.
Dakota Goyo voices Jamie In the film. I have to say he still does a wonderful job as the character. What makes Jamie such interesting character that Has the last child to believe in the guardians because all the rest of the children don't remember The Guardian sale Jamie has to your team up with the Guardians to take down Pitch Black so all the rest of the children can remember who the Guardians are. Probably the best moment with Jamie is where he meets the guardians in his room and they introduce themselves as them and not only is it really Emotional but it made sense because he was the last child to believe in them it is probably the most powerful moment of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Chris Pine is astounding.
However the absolute standout of the entire film is Jude Law as Pitch Black. Now Pitch Black is a incredible villain is that his motivation is that he wants to be feared by all the children so in order to do that he puts nightmares in the children's heads to inject fear into them so they can forget about the guardians and he almost wins in the end because the only child who still believed in the guardians was Jamie. The scene were Pitch Black kills Sandman by shooting a black arrow into him a turn him into dust and says "I would say sweet dreams but there aren't any left and not only was it really intense but it made sense because Sandman is the one that put dreams into the children's heads and without him all they would have is nightmares in their heads is really dark but at the same time it's really funny just because of the way Jude Law says the lions. Also I still think Pitch Black is up there with Lord Shen from Kung Fu Panda 2 as one of the best dream works villains. Also the voice that Jude Law Puts on is really creepy that I actually made me think that he would make a tremendous Nightmare in the MCU if he put on a more creepier and disturbing voice. But unfortunately they just waste him as one of the most boring villains in the MCU. Fun fact actors like Patrick Stewart, Christopher Lloyd, Jeff Goldblum, Willem Dafoe, Billy Bob Thornton, Ben Kingsley, Benicio Del Toro, David Tennant, Hugh Lorie, Cillain Murphy, Alan Rickman, Jeremy Irons, Gary Oldman, Paul Bettany, and Tom Hiddleston were all considered to voice Pitch Black.
The directing by Peter Ramsey Is really incredible because what I like about his directing Is that he gives all these characters really memorable personalities and really interesting care dogs especially Jack Frost because he want to know what his true purpose in the world he has to learn want it is like to be a member of the Guardians It's kind of similar to the way spider-Man was developed in the MCU because he had to learn with great power came great responsibility. I also like how he makes Pitch Black Really intimidating because there are moments where it comes off really creepy but there are some moments where he does crack a couple jokes and when he does it does not feel out of place because there will be moments where Pitch Black is funny but they will be moments where he like really intimidating. Also I like how he gave him a really dark and Sinister motivation by having all the kids forget about the Guardians and just fear him. I think it is really tremendous how he did that.
So in conclusion this is still one of my favorite DreamWorks films because the storyline revolving around Jack Frost trying to find his purpose in the world and him becoming a member of the Guardians and help them take down Pitch Black is a really interesting storyline and it is probably the strongest thing in the entire film that being the character development and the storyline. Also all the think the performances are really fun and really entertaining the too stand out performances are from Hugh Jackman as the Easter Bunny and Jude Law as Pitch Black both of them do a store job as the character that you can tell that both actors were having a lot of fun in the film. I like how the film is funny but it's not afraid to get emotional because the stuff with Jack Frost even know he does crack jokes he is actually a really tragic and sympathy that character that a lot of people can root for and really Care about. I have to say that Jack Frost is essentially the emotional core of the entire film so it's kind of like how Rocket Raccoon from Guardians Of the Galaxy Volume 3 was the emotional core for that film. I still think Pitch Black is up there with Lord Shen from Kung Fu Panda 2 as well the best DreamWorks villains of all time because both of them are really funny but they could be really intimidating as well. I will say that Lord Shen is a better written villain than Pitch Black because we get to learn more about him out of the villain like his backstory and motivation. Well Pitch Black is they really entertaining villain. I think this film is up there with marvel's The Avengers as one of my favorite films of 2012. I highly recommend you watch the film Especially if you like Kung Fu Panda 2 with Gary Oldman. I give this movie a 10/10.
