Here is My Movie Review of Star Wars Return of The Jedi
So basically what happens and that takes place after Star Wars Empire Strikes Back you have Luke Skywalker and his friends trying to save Han Solo and Princess Leia from Jobba The Hutt and Luke Skywalker has to Confront his father Darth Vader and take down emperor Palpatine unlock the Galactic Empire and save the Galaxy once and for all and that's basically what the story is for this film it's very simple and very incredible. Now I will say though I think the Empire Strikes Back had the best storyline out of any Star Wars movie but this one has a very interesting storyline.
Now the acting in this movie is excellent because you could say this is the actors' very last time playing the iconic characters because this is supposed to be the last Star Wars movie until Disney started to make more Star Wars movies that weren't all that good. But if you ignore those films this is easily the best finale of all time in Star Wars because all of the characters complete cartoons.
However the biggest standout of the entire film is Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker because ever since the first movie he has given a really powerful and captivating performance and here is no different he gives one of the best and one most emotional performances of the entire Trilogy. Now the character of Luke Skywalker is terrific because much like he was in the other two films he goes through a really big Character arc dark because he has to confront his father and take down the galactic Empire and save the Galaxy. Easily the best moment with Luke Skywalker and the part where he confronts his father Darth Vader in Emperor Palpatine's throne room in the two start fighting and it's easily one of the best action sequences of the entire film because Emperor Palpatine is telling Luke Skywalker to let out all of his anger and just kill his father and Join the dark side. It is easily the darkest moment of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Anthony Dennis, Billy Dee Williams, James Earl Jones, Ian McDiarmid, and Peter Mayhew Is magnificent.
Carrie Fisher comes back as Princess Leia in this film. I have to say she gives one of the best performances in the entire Trilogy because it has poured so much heart and emotion for this character. Now the character of Princess Leia is really incredible because she's gone through a lot of growth in this trilogy because in Star Wars she had to be rescued by Luke Skywalker and his team and Empire Strikes Back she had to try to take down the Galactic Empire and they lost. But in this film she has to team up with Luke Skywalker and Han Solo And the rest of her friends to take down the Galactic Empire and Save the Galaxy. The scene where Princess Leia find out that Luke Skywalker is her brother is not only really shocking but it made sense because she didn't know that she and Luke were related it's probably one of the most surprising twist in the whole trilogy because in the first two films you just thought that they were just friends. But no this film actually goes deeper than that and confirms that they are related As siblings. It is probably one of the most shocking moments of the entire film. The chemistry between her and Mark Hamill is exquisite.
Harrison Ford comes back as Han Solo in this film. I have to say he is still my favorite performance in the entire trilogy because everything about it is really fun. His line delivery is always entertaining and the emotional stuff with him is always incredible as well. Now the character of Han Solo in the film is incredible, in fact he is still my favorite character in the entire Trilogy because not only is he really funny. But He also goes through a really terrific character arc because in the first Star Wars film he was a smuggler who only joined Luke Skywalker to get paid. But then he had a change of heart and decided to be his friend and join him to destroy the Death Star. In the Empire Strikes Back he and his team had to try to take down the galactic Empire but they lost. But in this film he has to team up with Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia to take down the galactic Empire and save the Galaxy. The scene where Han Solo sees C3-PO Is being worshiped by the Ewoks is not only was it really funny but it makes sense because he's annoyed with C3-PO and just wants Him to stop talking. It is probably the funniest moment of the entire Trilogy because most of the humor from this Trilogy comes from Harrison Ford´s performance as Han Solo. The chemistry between him and Mark Hamill is incredible.
Anthony Dennis comes back to Voice C3PO In the film. I have to say he still does a glorious job as this character like he was in the first two films. He is still really funny and really entertaining as the character. Now the character of C-3PO is just like how he was in the first two films in the first film he had to team up with Luke Skywalker to rescue princess Leia and destroy the Death Star in the second movie he had to team up with his friends to try to take down the galactic Empire and they lost. But in this film he and his friends have to team up to take down the Galactic Empire once and for all and save the Galaxy. He's also shown to be cowardly like how he was in the first two movies and it is still really fun to see that in this film. The scene where C3-PO Is when He is being worshiped by all the Ewoks is not only really funny but it makes sense because they view him as if he is the Messiah. It is probably the funniest moment of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Mark Hamill is incredible.
Jabba the Hutt In the film is a really incredible villain because he enjoys torturing people and He wants to have Princess Leia all to himself. The scene where Java the Hut throat looks Skywalker into the pit where the raincoat lives it's not only a really dark and disturbing scene but it makes sense because that's what the Jabba The Hutt does: he feeds his presence to his giant pet. It is probably the most disturbing sequence of the entire film and it does a glorious job of opening the film perfectly. Also the effects to bring Jabba the Hut to life still hold up because he is a giant puppet that is controlled by Puppeteers and there's no CGI so that just proved that the special effects in the original Star Wars Films are a lot better than the newer stuff.
Billy Dee Williams plays Lando Calrissian In the film. I have to say he is still as tremendous as this character because he was terrific in Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back. But here he is really terrific as the character. Now the character of Lando Calrissian It's just as perfect and entertaining as he was in Empire Strikes Back because in this film he wants to help Han Solo and his friends take down the Galactic Empire and save the universe once and for all. The scene where Lando Calrissian Fun through space and attacking the galactic Empire is a really powerful and incredible theme because he wants to help Hanco and his friends take down the Empire and save the Galaxy once and for all. It is probably one of the most powerful moments of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Mark Hamill is astonishing.
Peter Mayhew comes back to voice Chewbacca in the film. I have to say much like how he was in the first 2 films. He still does a glorious job as the character. You can tell that he is still having a lot of fun as this character. Now the character of Chewbacca It's still really fun and really incredible as he was in the first two films. He goes through a really awesome character Arc in this film because in the first film he had to team up with Luke Skywalker to rescue princess Leia and destroy the Death Star. In Empire Strikes Back he had to team up with his friends again to try to take down the Galactic Empire and they lost. Now in this film he has to do it again but take down the Galactic Empire and save the Galaxy. The scene where Chewbacca Is reunite with Han Solo in Jabba's Palace is not only really emotional and really terrific but it makes sense because Chewbacca missed spending time with his best friend Han Solo and is probably the most emotional and one of the most heartwarming scenes of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Mark Hamill is perfect.
James Earl Jones comes back to voice Darth Vader in this film. I have to say he still does a tremendous job as a character. He gives one that's best performances add the character and other than the entire career. Now the character of Darth Vader is incredible just like how he was in the first two films and in this film he wants Luke Skywalker to embrace the dark side just like how he tried to get him to turn bad in Empire Strikes Back. The scene where Darth Vader takes Luke Skywalker Emperor Palpatine is not only a really dark and showing moment but it makes sense because Darth Vader wants Luke Skywalker to join him. It was probably the most haunting moment of the entire film Because Luke Skywalker is slowly turning to the dark side because of how much anger he has built up in him. The Rivalry between him and Luke Skywalker is still spectacular ever since the first film they built it up and now is at full circle for the entire trilogy. The chemistry between him and Mark Hamill is splendid.
Ian McDiarmid Plays Emperor Palpatine in the film. I have to say he does a glorious job of giving a really dark and creepy performance as the character because the voice that he puts on for Emperor Palpatine is really chilling and really scary. Now the character of Emperor Palpatine is really scary because he wants to just kill the rebels and rule the Galaxy and he also wants to push Luke Skywalker over to the dark side like Darth Vader did in Empire Strikes Back. The scene where Emperor Palpatine is electrocuting Luke Skywalker is probably one of the most iconic moments of the entire film because he just wants to kill him because He did obey his order so that's why he thinks Luke Skywalker deserved to be electrocuted to death and die. It is probably one of the most chilling and nail binding moments of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Mark Hamill is fantastic.
Now the directing by Richard Marquand Is really interesting because I do think he does a terrific job directing this film because he put the beautiful ending to this entire Trilogy. Luke Skywalker gets his happy ending and they finally take down the galactic Empire and save the Galaxy. Darth Vader had a really tragic and epic conclusion to his character, and the Royale between him and Luke Skywalker is the strongest aspect of the entire film. But he does put in a lot of funny jokes in this film but still manages to keep the tone consistent even the stuff with the Ewoks i never really hated them. I thought they served the story well. Also the relationship between Han Solo and Princess Leia is also really interesting especially where he finds out that she and Luke Skywalker or brother and sister and that was a really awesome twist in the film. I think overall he did a terrific job directing the film.
So in conclusion I enjoy this film. The storyline was really epic how it managed to cap off the entire Trilogy of having Luke Skywalker preventing himself from turning to the dark side and finding out that he and Princess Leia were siblings. Also the action sequences were really awesome, especially that big final battle against Emperor Palpatine and Luke Skywalker, that was a really awesome and epic final battle. Also Harrison Ford as Han Solo is still one of my favorite performances in the entire Trilogy as well as my favorite character in the trilogy because he had so much funny lines of dialogue especially the part where he tells Lando not to scratch up the Millennium Falcon It is one of the funniest interactions of the entire film. Now I will say I do think that Empire Strikes Back is a way better film because that one's a lot darker and has higher steaks. But this one does have high Stakes and it does do a glorious job of developing all the characters especially Luke Skywalker because This is really his movie because it mainly focuses around him because he has to fight the urges of going to the dark side he has to control his emotions Is the strongest aspect of the entire film. Also the relationship between Han Solo and Chewbacca is also really fun and still entertaining to watch. I highly recommend you watch this film especially if you enjoy Empire Strikes Back which also Stars Mark Hamill. Then I'm sure you will like this film as well. I give this film a 10/10.
