Here is My Movie Review of Color Out of Space

So basically what happens is that you have this guy named Nathan Gardner and his family who lives on the farm with a bunch of alpacas and then one day a mysterious purple media crashes down onto the farm and The purple entity Cause in the family to lose their minds a lot of crazy and unpredictable stuff happens so it's up to Nathan Gardner  Send the entity back home and stop all the paranormal hauntings that are happening on the farm and protective family and that's basically what the story is for the film. I have to say the storyline in the film It's really interesting but also really disturbing because you're essentially watching a family going mentally and physically insane over this purple alien entity that walked them to do messed up stuff to each other and in terms of a story telling perspective it works extremely well. 

Now the acting in this movie is really incredible because It is really subtle but there are points where the actors do go over the top and if works extremely well you can tell all of them are having fun at that characters and I think this movie is probably up there with Mank as one of the most awesome acted films of 2020. 

However the absolute big standout of the entire movie is Nicolas Cage as Nathan Gardner because  there are points where he is very subtle in the robot There are points where he does start to go over the top he starts freaking out and it works extremely well because Nico is cage can be both over the top and subtle at the same time. Now Nathan Gardner as a character is very interesting because at first he doesn't believe that the house is haunted by the purple alien entity but in the film he does start to believe they start to go really crazy and he wants to put a stop to it and protect his entire family. Probably the best moment with Nathan Gardner is when he is in the kitchen in the tomatoes and he said that they taste really bad and start screaming shorts throwing them into the garbage and not only is it really funny in a really dark way. But it makes sense because he is starting to believe that their house is cursed with this alien entity that is trying to get them to kill each other. It's probably one of the darkly comedic moments of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Joely Richardson, Branden Meyer, Madeleine Arthur, Julian Hillian, Tommy Chong Is perfect.

Joely Richardson plays Nathan Gardner´s wife Theresa Gardner In the film. I have to say she does a spectacular job as this character. Now Theresa Gardner as this character is really incredible because she believes that this alien entity is trying to take control of their family and  much like her husband wants to stop that from happening and keep her whole family safe. Probably the best moment with Theresa Gardner Is where she tried to perform a sound too fixed everything getting Aliens to live her family alone and not only that we really disturbing but It makes sense because she is trying death probably to get rid of the alien but unfortunately when she fails because it manages to possess their end it is probably the darkest moments of the entire film. The chemistry between her and Nicolas Cage is excellent.

Madeleine Arthur plays Nathan Gardner´s daughter Lavinia Gardner In the film. I have to say she does a remarkable job as this character.  Now Lavinia Gardner as a character is Interesting because she at first is the only one that believed that the aliens are trying to kill them. She said that they have to move out to avoid the paranormal haunting in their house.  Probably the best moment with Lavinia Gardner Is where she finds that her mother is possessed along with her little brother Jack Gardner are possessed by the alien entity and not only that really shocking but it makes sense because her dad Nathan Gardner locks her in a room because she didn't let the alpaca out like he told her to. It is probably the most horrifying sequence of the entire film. That chemistry between her and Nicolas Cage is perfect.

Branden Meyer plays Nathan Gardner´s older son Benny Gardner in the film. I have to say he does a terrific job as the character. Now Benny Gardner as a character is really excellent because he wants to protect his family from the alien entity and does it want anything bad to happen to them. Probably the best moment with Benny Gardner Is where he sees the sky turning purple and stuff is falling out apart in the house and not only that really dark as disturbing it makes sense because the aliens were here to invade their planet. It had to be one of the shocking moments of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Nicolas Cage is astonishing.

Tommy Chong plays Ezra In the film. I had to say even though he's not in the film a whole lot he still does a glorious job of this character. Now Ezra as a character  Is really tremendous because he is shown to be very intelligent. He knows What is going on about why everything's turning purple. Why are the aliens here to kill Nathan Gardner and his  whole family.  Probably the best moment with Ezra Is where he tells Nathan Gardner That the aliens are coming and not only that really Shocking but it makes sense because the inlands are here to take over the farm and kill Nathan Gardner ́s Whole family. It is probably horrifying scenes of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Nicolas Cage is outstanding. 

Julian Hillian plays Nathan Gardner ́s youngest son Jack Gardner In the film. I have to say he does a marvelous job as the character. Now Jack Gardner As a character is really amazing because he wants to protect his family from the aliens he doesn't want them to be killed Probably the best moment with Jack Gardner Is where she sees the media in front of his house and not only that really suspenseful but it foreshadows events that would later happen in the film. If probably the most important moment of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Nicolas Cage is fantastic. 

The directing by Richard Stanley Is really incredible because what I like about his directing is that He doesn't make this a generic alien horror film. He actually builds up the alien appearance because first you see the meteor and then near the end of the film you finally Do see it. I also like how you make the family really sympathetic because even though there are points when they do argue a lot they do deeply care about each other and I feel like this is what Poltergeist 2015 should have been like with the characters being like a ball instead of Selfish and hateful towards each other. I think it is really astounding and perfect of how he did that. 

So in conclusion I still really enjoyed the film. The concept of a meteor that can turn everything purple and actually a purple alien entity That if you have to invade Earth does work to the film's benefit and the storyline revolving around the family trying to survive this alien invasion is really interesting. I think this movie is up there with Wonder Woman 1984 and one of my favorite movies of 2020. This is up there with Renfield and one of My favorite Nicolas Cage films. I highly recommend you watch this film if you like bizarre trippy sci-fi films like Inception with Leonardo DiCaprio. I'm sure you'll like this one too. I also think that this is one of the most underrated movies of 2020 because because it premiered in 2019 at a film Festival but we had to wait until the following year to watch it and if you enjoy Mute with Paul Rudd which is a really underrated sci-fi film, I'm sure you'll like this one. I give this movie a 10/10.
