Here is My TV Show Review of Echo
So basically what happens if that takes place right after the events of Hawkeye you have Maya Lopez/Echo and she has to go back to her hometown to be with her Native American grandmother named Chula that tells that she must embrace her Native American side but then she finds out that Her uncle Wilson Fisk / The Kingpin tells her to join him into build his criminal empire so she can rule by his side it's up to Maya Lopez/Echo´s Native American life with her criminal life and that's basically what the story is for this show. I will say that this show had a much better storyline than secret invasion because it had a really terrible and very boring storyline. Well this show has a better storyline that actually makes sense.
The acting in the show is Much better than the acting in secret invasion but having said that well the acting I think is tremendous the biggest problem with this show is The writing because they just like to turn every character family even their villains because they ruined Kingpin which is kind of a big middle finger because Netflix Gave them the character to But instead the MCU tarnish the entire character.
Aisaqua Cox came back as Maya Lopez/Echo. I have to say she still does a remarkable job and the character. Now Maya Lopez/Echo as a character was my favorite part of Hawkeye. I have to say she was the most memorable thing in that show. But in this show I had to say she was Decent in the show I do like how they connect her and Wilson Fiks/The Kingpin back together from the events of Hawkeye and that was the most memorable stuff in this whole show. Probably the best moment with Maya Lopez/Echo and where she and Wilson Fisk/The Kingpin reunite and he tell her that he can give her her own empire and not only was it really intense but it made sense because they haven't seen each other since the events of Hawkeye and it is probably the one the most memorable moments of the entire show. The chemistry between her and Tantoo Cardinal, Chaske Spencer and Vincent D'Onofrio Is still Terrific.
Chaske Spencer Plays Maya Lopez/Echo´s friend Henry in the show. I have to say he did an okay job as the character. Now the character of Henry is really interesting because well he cares about Maya Lopez/Echo really likes her as a friend he doesn't want her to kill anybody especially the ones that he loves that I think for the most part it works really well you do feel sorry for him because he doesn't want Maya Lopez/Echo to kill anyone that he cares about. Probably the best moment with Henry is where he and Maya Lopez/Echo are at The Roller Rink together and not only is it really emotional but it makes sense he really cares about her as a friend it's probably one of the best moments in the entire show. The chemistry between him and Aisaqua Cox is still awesome.
Tantoo Cardinal plays Maya Lopez/Echo´s grandmother Chula In the show. I have to say she still does a fantastic job. What makes Chula such spectacular character is that you would tell that she really cares about her niece Maya Lopez/Echo and wants her to experience her Native American side more. Probably the best moment with Chula Is where she tells Maya Lopez/Echo About her backstory. Not only was it really emotional but it made sense because that's what she had to experience when she was a little kid. It is probably one of the most memorable moments of the show.
Vincent D'Onofrio reprises his role as Wilson Fisk/The Kingpin. I have to say he still does a spectacular job as the character. Now Wilson Fisk/Kingpin as a character was the best part of Hawkeye but my problem was that they made him too family-friendly and made him into a cartoon character. But I'm happy to say that's not the case in this show He is really threatening he is just like how he was on Netflix ´ s Daredevil called hearted and very sinister like how it should be. Probably the best moment with Wilson Fisk/Kingpin is where he tells Maya Lopez/Echo about his backstory between him and his family and not only was it really dark but it made sense because when he was a kid he was sick of his dad appearing his mother and the final straw came when he forced him to watch him hit her behind a wall so he decided to take his vengeance out on his dad by beating him to death with a hammer and it is probably the most intense moment of the entire show. No well this is all perfect the biggest problem in that ruins this is the final episode because they took Kingpin and made me into a well pansy because when Echo's grandmother scares them and he run away like a chicken so much like what they did to him in Hawkeye they essentially turn Kingpin into a family friendly villain. That's not how Kingpin is supposed to be he's about to be very vicious so well they somewhat fixed him they also kind of ruined him at the same time and this approves my point that the MCU does not understand how to set up it's villain because look what happened to Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man 3 that character was fun but the way they took his character out was Ridiculous and weird because Kang attacked by a bunch of ants but I have to say this is even worse because like at least with King it made somewhat sense because Ant-Man had the ability to control ants. But this is just a big middle finger to one of the best MC villains. The chemistry between him and Aisaqua Cox is astounding.
Now the directing by Martin Dayre Is really interesting because there's some stuff I enjoyed about Her directing. The one thing I did like about her directing is that she made Wilson Fisk / the kingpin accurate to Netflix's Daredevil making him very dark and sinister. Another thing I enjoyed is the way she developed Wilson Fisk / The Kingpin and Maya Lopez/Echo ´ s relationship. But much like I said before she essentially just made Kingpin family friendly character and this is my biggest problem with the MCU now they try to be too family friendly i mean with Ant-Man that's okay because he's a family friendly character and he the comedic character but characters like Kingpin the Hulk they have to be slightly darker because they are Very interesting characters but again the MCU just makes the Hulk family friendly by making crack jokes and they make Kingpin into a loser essentially.
So in conclusion, I don't hate this show as much as Secret invasion because that show is so boring and unwatchable while this show is actually entertaining with a lot of memorable moments. Well I don't think this show is as perfect as Loki. I will say it is much better than Hawkeye because it goes by much faster and the relationship between Maya Lopez/Echo and Wilson Fisk / The Kingpin and the strongest aspect of this entire show. But I have to say they just ruined Kingpin they just made him again family friendly and this is why i wish Netflix kept Kingpin in the Daredevil show that they may because that show made him very scary and essentially a character you do not want to mess around with because he'll just kill you. With the MCU they're like oh let's make a family friendly also again the death proves my point that the MCU does not understand how to set up a really awesome villain anymore like they did with Dennis instead they either kill off the villain or make them into a big loser like they did here with Kingpin. Now well I did say it's better than Hawkeye and I still stand by that unfortunately because of what they did to Kingpin and I guess what they did with the show as a whole because there's nothing that's graphic in this show there's nothing disturbing because we watched the show The Penguin there's a theme where Penguin throw the guy under a bus and the bus Kill them and they actually show it on screen because it's Ray and R but with this show they just cut away to everything and trying to make it PG-13. Unfortunately for all of the good stuff in this show. I just found the show super forgettable and I give this show a 6/10.
