Here is My Movie Review of Hacksaw Ridge
So basically what happened is that it tells the real life story Desmon T. Doss And how he was recorded into World War II and to becoming a Paramedic and save Smitty during the war without firing or using a single gun and it's up to Desmon T. Doss to survive World War II and to get the medal of Honor.
The acting in this movie is fantastic. I still think everyone does a terrific job as their characters.
However the absolute big standout of the entire film is Andrew Garfield as Desmon T. Doss. What makes Desmond T. Doss' such a wonderful character is that he basically had to survive during World War II and become the very first paramedic to save Smitty without firing or using any form of violence to survive. Probably the best moment with Desmond T. Doss Is where he first meets Dorothy Shutte and he starts to fall in love with her and not only was it really emotional but it made sense because in real life Desmond T. Doss did end up falling in love with her and eventually married Dorothy Shutte. It is probably the most incredible scene of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Sam Worthington, Vince Vaughn, Hugo Weaving, Teresa Palmer, and Luke Bacey Is remarkable.
Hugo Weaving plays Desmond T. Doss´s William Thomas Doss In the film. I have to say he still does an excellent job as the character. What makes William Thomas Doss such an incredible character is that he doesn't want his son Desmond T. Doss To serve in World War II because he doesn't want him to die. Probably the best moment with William Thomas Doss Is where he tells his son Desmond T. Doss that he doesn't want him to join the military because he doesn't want him to be killed just like everyone else. Not only was it really emotional but it made sense because In real life he didn't want his son Desmond T. Doss to join the military. It is probably the most powerful moment in the entire film. The chemistry between him and Andrew Garfield is magnificent.
Vince Vaughn plays Sergeant Howell In the film. What makes Sergeant Howell such an amazing character is that he will do anything in his power to Break his army to make them better in order to survive World War II. Probably the best scene Sergeant Howell Is in the montage where he is telling the other soldiers to train as hard as they can and not only was it really intense but makes sense because in real life sergeant Howell had to do it in real life. It is probably the most powerful moment in the entire film. The chemistry between him and Andrew Garfield is astonishing.
Now for this being Darcy Bryce´s very first movie he starred in. I have to say he still does a Terrific job as The character of Young Desmond T. Doss. What makes Young Desmond T. Doss such an interesting character that all he wanted to do was to impress his father William Thomas Doss. Probably the best moment with Young Desmond T. Doss And where he is talking with his mother and asking her why does his dad not like him and not only was it really emotional but it meant that because in real life his father William Thomas Doss was very hard on him. It is probably the saddest moment of the entire film.
Sam Worthington plays Captain Glover in the film. I have to say he still does a Tremendous job as the character. What makes Captain Glover such an awesome character is that he really wants his troops to survive through World War II and make it out alive. Probably the best moment with Captain Glover is where he is asking Desmond T. Doss Why he didn't you pick up the rifle and not only it was it really powerful but it makes sense because in real life Desmond T. Doss Survived World War II without firing or using a single gun. It is probably the strongest moment of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Andrew Garfield is fantastic.
Teresa Palmer plays Desmond T. Doss´s girlfriend Dorothy Shutte In the film. I have to say she still does a marvelous job as The character. What makes Dorothy Shutte such a wonderful character is that she Has romantic feelings towards Desmond T. Doss. Probably the best moment with Dorothy Shutte Is where she tells Desmond T. Doss not to go into war and not only was it really powerful but it made sense because In real life she really loved him and didn't want anything bad happened to him. It is probably the most beautiful scene of the entire film. The chemistry between her and Andrew Garfield is still excellent.
Luke Bacey plays Smitty In the film. I have to say he still does a delightful job as the character. What makes Smitty Such a outstanding character that much like the rest of his troops he also wants to survive World War II. Probably the best moment with Smitty is where he tells Desmond T. Doss To leave them there to die but Here I feel this and not only was it really powerful and very intent but it made sense because In real life Smithy was about to die in the war until Desmond T. Doss saves him and puts him on a Gurnee to take them back to the military base so he can be safe. It is probably the most incredible scene of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Andrew Garfield is astonishing.
The directing by Mel Gibson is Spectacular because what I like about his directing is that he did a Tremendous job Of getting The real life story of Desmond T. Doss Completely accurate because in real life he did have to leave his family behind to become a paramedic during World War II and to go through the entire war without firing a single shot or using any guns in order to survive the War. I still think it is outstanding of how he did that.
So in conclusion this is one of my favorite war films of all time because it captures the real life History of World War II and the life of Desmond T. Doss Really well. This is probably up there with The Fundamentals of Caring with Paul Rudd as one of my favorite movies of 2016. This is probably up there with Devotion With Jonathan Majors at one of my favorite war films of all time. If you enjoy Beast of No Nation with Idris Elba. Then I'm sure you're going to like this one. I give this movie a 10/10.
