Here is My Movie Review of 1922
So basically What happens is that you have this guy named Wilfred James, his wife Arlette James, and their son Henry James. They are having financial trouble with their farm. So Arlette James decides to divorce Wilfred James and Sell the farm and take Henry James with her to Omaha. But Henry James doesn't Want to move away from the farm so Wilfred James Decides to kill his wife Arlette James with the help of his son Henry James. But after that things start to become a lot more stressful as they find out that there are people who are questioning them. so it is up to Wilfred James and his son Henry James to cover up the murder of Arlette James. That is basically what the story is for this movie.
The acting in this movie is spectacular. I still think everyone’s performance is perfect.
However the absolute big standout of the entire film is Thomas Jane as Wilfred James. What Wilfred James Such an amazing character is that you understand where he's coming from. He doesn't want his son Henry James to be taken away from him. Probably the best scene with Wilfred James is when Is in the basement and his deceased wife Arlette James Is whispering to him and telling him what happened to their son Henry James. It is probably the most disturbing scene in the entire film. The chemistry between him and Molly Parker, and Dylan Schmid is still remarkable.
Molly Parker Plays Wilfred James’s wife Arlette James. I have to say she still does a terrific job as the character. What makes Arlette James such an interesting character Is that much like her husband Wilfred James you can also see the strat that she's going through because she wants to move to a city. She doesn't want to live on a farm and she wants to Take her son with her. Probably the best moment with Arlette James Is where she and her husband Wilfred James Are discussing her plans to make this family work and it is Probably the most emotional scene in the entire film. The chemistry between her and Thomas Jane is excellent.
Dylan Schmid plays Wilfred James and Arlette James’s son Henry James. I have to say he still does a tremendous job as the character. What makes Henry James Such an awesome character is that you really understand where he's coming from. He doesn't want to move to the city with his mom, he wants to stay with his Wilfred James on the farm. Probably the best thing with Henry James is when he and his father Wilfred James are killing His mom Arlette James. It is probably the most disturbing moment of the entire film.
The directing by Zak Hilditch Is really interesting because what I like about his directing is that he does a Incredible job of making this movie accurate to the novel 1922 by Stephen King. I also like how he develops the relationship between Wilfred James and his son Henry James Working together on the format but eventually as the film got on this slowly drifted apart. I still think it is really incredible how I did that.
So in conclusion this is still my favorite Netflix original movie. I still think the relationship between Wilfred James and his son Henry James is still really interesting. I also like how this movie is not really an A24 film but it actually feels like an A24 film because of the simple story and interesting characters. I still think this is up there with The Black Phone with Ethan Hawke as one of my favorite horror movies. I still think if you are a fan of the movie It from 2017 then I'm sure you're going to like this one. I give this movie a 10/10.
