Here is My Movie Review of A Ghost Story

Here is My Movie Review of A Ghost Story

So basically what happens is that you have this woman named M And her husband C who died in a car accident and she is trying to move on and then C comes back as a ghost and find out that a lot of things have changed since he died. So he decided to try to find his wife and  it's up to him to be reunited with M. That is basically what the story is for this movie.

The acting in this movie is really interesting because none of the characters have much dialogue. But I have to say both actors do a terrific job as their characters.

Ruby Mara plays M in this film. I have to say she still does a fantastic job as the character. What makes M Such a sympathetic character is that she is trying to get over the loss of her husband C. Probably my favorite moment with M  is When she is in the hospital asking the doctor if her husband is going to be okay and the doctor says that he has died. It is probably the most powerful moment in the entire film.

However the absolute big standout of the entire film is Casey Affleck as C. What makes C Such a tragic character is that you really feel bad for me because he never got to spend more time with his wife M ever since he died in that car accident. Probably my favorite moment is when C is walking in the family's house and sees their Christmas tree and it is probably the most emotional moment in the entire film. The chemistry between him and Rudy Mora is still remarkable.

The directing by David Lowry Is really incredible because what I like about his directing is that he does a great job of tackling the subject of death because there are a lot of questions about death like When you die do you become forgotten by the rest of the world or do you become reincarnated as an animal. I think it is really amazing how he did that.

So in conclusion I still really enjoyed the film. I still like how the film discusses grief and loss really well. Also like how there's not much dialogue because to be honest not a lot of movies need much dialogue because you can still tell a great story with just the visuals and the effects. This is probably one of my favorite A24 films. I still think this is one of my favorite films of 2017. I give this movie a 10/10.
