So basically what happens is that you have this woman named Sue Buttons and it is her birthday and she decides to have a dinner reservation with her husband Karl But she finds out that He is cheating on her with another girl named Leah Norton But after she and Karl have intercourse he dies. Sue Buttons decides to make this Story of what her husband is missing . However the news doesn't want to talk about that so she decides to trys to get people to talk about her more. But then you have this woman named Mina Who is the daughter of this mobster named Mr Kim And he says that she's not feared to run His company so she decides to Kidnap and kill Karl Buttons to Prove to her dad that she can be feared. It's up to Sue Buttons to come out and tell the truth about what really happened and that is basically what the story is for this movie.
The acting in this movie is still terrific. I still think everyone gave it their all. I can tell everyone's having fun as their characters.
Allison Janney plays Sue Buttons In the film and I have to say she does an amazing job as the character. What makes Sue Buttons Such a interesting character is that you'll understand why she lies in the film because she wants to have attention she wants the media to pay attention to her. Probably the best moment in the film is where she confesses what really happened to her husband Karl. It is probably the most powerful moment in the film. The chemistry between her and Mila Kunis, Regina Hall, Wanda Sykes, Jimmi Simpson, and Awkwafina is still really tremendous.
Mila Kunis plays Sue Buttons´s Sister Nancy in the film and I have to say she still does a great job as the character. What makes Nancy such an awesome character is that She wants to help her sister Sue find her husband Karl. Probably the best moment with Nancy is when she Interviewing her sister about the disappearance of her husband. It is probably one of the most interesting moments in the film. The chemistry between her and Allison Janney Is still amazing.
Wanda Sykes plays Rita in the film and I have to say she still does a remarkable job as the character. What makes Rita such an entertaining character is that she wants to help Sue find her husband. Probably the funniest moment in the film is where Rita First meets Mina and her helper and she is surprised how well Mina can fight. The chemistry between her and Allison Janney is fantastic.
Regina Hall plays Detective Cam Harris in the film and I have to say she does a marvelous job as the character. What makes detective hair such an Intelligent character that she wants to figure out what really happened to Karl. Probably my favorite moment with Detective Cam Harris is where she is interrogating Sue Buttons and questioning her if she killed her husband. It is probably one of the most suspenseful scenes in the entire film.The chemistry Between her and Allison Janney is still really astonishing.
Jimmi Simpson Plays Sue Buttons´s Brother Petey Buttons and I have to say he still does an excellent job as the character. What makes Petey Buttons Interesting character is that he wants to help his sister Sue find her husband. Probably the darkest moment is when Mina Is threatening to kill him. If he doesn't tell her where Karl is, it is Probably the most disturbing scene in the entire film.
However the actress who stole the show in the entire film is Awkwafina as Mina. Now much like in my Review of the Farewell, this is a really different performance from Awkwafina because she plays the nice characters who are really funny. But in this movie She basically plays a mobster in this movie and I have to say it is really interesting to see her play a villain because much like Paul Rudd in Mute. We don't see these really nice actors play villains as much. Now the character Mina Is really interesting because she wants to run her dance company but her dad says she's not menacing enough so she wants to prove to her dad that she is intimidating. I still think her Motivation makes sense because she wants to be just like her dad. Not only is she really intimidating but she is really funny in this movie. Probably the funniest moment with her is where after her dad rejects her she walks out of the bowling alley and she give her dead two middle fingers. Not only was it funny. But it makes sense because she's pissed off that her dad is not letting her run his company. I want to see Awkwafina Play more villains. I think this is Awkwafina´s Most underrated performance I have seen. The chemistry between her and Allison Janney is still marvelous.
The directing by Tate Tyler is really interesting because what I like about him is the direct thing and that he really does the amazing job of tackling the subject of celebrity attention because in real life there are some people who try so hard to get attention so they decide to lie to get fame But eventually the fame goes to their heads. I think it is really smart how he did that
So in conclusion I still really enjoy this movie. I still think this is one of the most underrated movies of 2021. It is probably in my top five most Underrated movies of all time. I still think that it is one of my favorite Awkwafina Movies of all time. I would like to see Awkwafina play more villains. I still think more people Should give this movie a chance before calling it the worst of 2021. I give this movie a 10/10.
