Here is My Movie Review of Thor Love and Thunder

 

Here is my movie review of Thor Love and Thunder 

So basically what happens is that you have Thor who is going on a mission with the Guardians of the Galaxy. Then you have this guy named Gorr The God Butcher who is kidnapping all the children of new Asgard. Then you'll have Jane Foster who is diagnosed with cancer and then Thor Hammer calls to her and she becomes Mighty Thor and it's up to her and Thor to take down Gorr The God Butcher and save the children of New Asgard That is basically what the story is for this movie. 

Now a lot of people say that the acting this movie is atrocious but I don't think it is that bad In fact I don't think the acting is the problem I think it is the writing and the directing because this movie is so overly goofy that most of the serious stuff is gone but I'll say this all the actors I feel like are having fun in the film you can tell that they are having a blast playing their characters.

The Guardians in this movie even though they were only in the beginning of the film they still do a great job In this movie they're still really funny. Probably the funniest scene between Thor and Star-Lord is where Thor says you can have your ship back and Star Wars says okay That is probably the funniest moment in the film with the Guardians. 

Chris Hemsworth plays Thor In this movie. I have to say he still does a tremendous job as the character. But the character of Thor is way too goofy in this movie there are points where he is serious but for the majority of the movie he just cracks a lot of jokes and this is why I liked him better in the first film because well he had bits of him like he was mostly very serious but the MCU has just dialed his humor up to a 11 it doesn't know what one door to be do they want him to be a goofy character or do they want him to be this tragic hero. Probably the best moment with Thor is where he reunites with Jane Foster and not only is it really strong but it makes sense because he hadn't seen her for a very long time ever since Thanos Wiped out half of all life in the universe and it is probably the most powerful moment in the film. the chemistry between him and Natalie Portman, Russell Crowe, Taika Waititi, Tessa Thompson, and Christian Bale is astounding 

Taika Waititi voices Korg In the film. I still think he does an amazing job as the character. Now the character of Korg is still relatively the same he's still really funny and I think most of his jokes were probably the most consistent in this movie because all the other jokes in this movie were very weird and didn't make a lot of sense. The scenes with Cord are really funny whether it's him recapping the events of Thor's entire character from the MCU or him reacting to Thor meeting this it did lead to some really funny and some really fun moments throughout the film. Also the scene where Cork died with really sad but he eventually did come back as a head and the CGI for Korg they looked that bad though that's really amazing. The chemistry between him and Chris Hemsworth is fantastic.

Tessa Thompson plays King Valkyrie In the film i have to say she still does a awesome job as the character What makes King Valkyrie such a great character is that she desperately wants to help Thor and James Foster/Mighty Thor rescue the kids of Asgard from Gorr The God Butcher. Probably the best moment with King Valkyrie is where she Gorr the God butcher that he has nothing and not only is it really suspenseful but it makes sense because she is calling him out for killing innocent gods and it's probably the darkest moment of the entire film. The chemistry between her and Chris Hemsworth is still great.

Natalie Portman plays Jane Foster/Mighty Thor In the film. I have to say she still does a remarkable job as the character. Now the character of Jane Foster in the first Thor film was just his love interest She didn't really do much. But in this film she has a lot more to do and she wants to help Thor rescue the kids of Asgard from Gorr the God Butcher and she is also battling stage 4 cancer And she makes jokes about it and I thought the cancer jokes were never funny now I get what she is doing this film she's trying to like forget about her cancer by using humor to like relieve stress They barely focus on it like it felt like the cancer cell plot was more of an afterthought and I think it would be more interesting if they put that cell plot in Thor the Dark World because that will make a lot more sense because you know it is a very touchy subject and I think the second Thor film would have dealt with her having cancer More seriously rather than make it a joke about it. But the scenes with James Foster/ Lady Thor Oh really interesting weather is her fighting on gourds Berserkers or her becoming Landy Thor for the first time well that's actually really fun I think those seems to do make the movie really fun to watch and yeah there's some dumb moments like when she said the line if they if there's color they want we'll have to bring the rainbow now just a really dumb line but I didn't multiple moments were really funny especially her final goodbye to Thor that was really awesome and really sound to watch because he didn't want to lose her.

Russell Crowe Plays Zeus in the film. I have to say he does a fantastic job as the character. Now the character of this he's not in this film a lot but for what he does have he is really funny his personality is very entertaining to watch he loves attention he loves fame he's full him self though interestingly there is a deleted scene of him being nice because the MCU character that is full of himself is Ego from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 because that character is virtually irredeemable you can't redeem him. Probably the best moment with Zeus is where Thor ask him if he can have his lightning bolt and this says no and not only was it really funny but it made sense because you have to be worthy to hold it and it's probably the funniest moment of the entire film. Fun fact actors like Liam Neeson, Mel Gibson, Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, Hugh Jackman, Sam Neil, Hugh Grant, Pierce Brosman were all considered to play Zeus. The chemistry between him and Chris Hemsworth is really great. 

However The absolute big stand out of the entire film is Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher. Now the character of Gorr The God Butcher is tremendous because he has a really understandable villain motivation because he wants to use Thor hammer storm breaker to open a portal to Valhalla to bring back his deceased daughter. I still think Gorr the God Butcher is up there with Xu Wenwu from Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings because both of them lost their loved ones with Xu Wenwu had to watch his wife be beaten to death by these gang members and he decided to take revenge and he kills the thugs at a bar and beats them to death and with Gorr the God Butcher he was traveling in the desert with his daughter and she died in his arms due to them both starving to death in the desert. So he decides to use Thor's hammer storm breaker to bring her back. The scenes with Gorr The God Butcher Are some of my favorite moments in the film whether it is him watching his daughter die in front of them and killing Rappu or him Confronting Thor in the shadow realm tell him to bring him the ax it didn't lead to some really tragic and some really brutal moments in the film. And I did think the scenes with Gorr are probably some of my favorite moments in the MCU phase 4. Also the voice that Christian Bale puts on for Gorr the God Butcher is probably the most disturbing voice performance ever in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film and it really works. He's very demonic; he sounds like an actual devil. You know if Christian Bale would have  actually been cast as Mephisto in a Doctor Strange movie he would have been perfect to play that character. I think Gorr the God Butcher and Xu Wenwu are both tied as my favorite villains in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. the rivalry between him and Thor is Terrific. I can also tell that Christian Bale was having a lot of fun playing the character of Gorr The God Butcher. Also the CGI to bring Gorr the God Butcher to life is marvelous. But if I had one problem with Gorr I feel like he's in the wrong movie because Well I like this villain I think you should have been the second Thor movie because Thor the Dark World had a really boring villain. But yet this movie is really overly silly but it has a really awesome villain. I think it would have been better if they put Gore in that movie then they can have the enchantress be the villain in this film I think that would have made a lot more sense. Fun fact Actors like Jared Leto, Seth Rogen, Joaquin Phoenix, Robert Pattinson,Tom Hardy, Vin Diesel, Mads Mikkelsen, Cillain Murphy, Richard Armitage, Javier Bardem, Matthew McConaughey, Hugh Jackman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Vincent D'Onofrio, Idris Elba, Keanu Reeves, David Tennant, Oscar Isaac, Matt Damon, Sam Rockwell were all considered to voice Gorr The God Butcher.

 

The directing by Taika Waititi is is really interesting because are they for the most part he does he prayed these in job of directing the film I think the things he does really well is develop the character of Gorr the God Butcher making him the very tragic and downright sympathetic villain that had a really strong and interesting motivation and a really tragic backstory. Although I do like how he develops the character of Jane Foster having her become Lady Thor was really awesome and she is kind of the emotional core Of the film because she is dying of stage 4 cancer and I think for the most part it does handle her emotional Journey really well for the most part there are a few dumb moments with a character like her cracking jokes about her cancer which is not that funny again I get what she's going for because he is trying to forget about it but She just acts like it is a not It is a big deal and it's like so dumb. But I will say the ending to our hair dark it was the saddest and one of the most beautiful scenes in this movie when she said they're goodbyes the Thor. Also I don't like how he made Thor kind of dumb in this movie he does make store Overly silly and I just wish he was like how he was in the first Thor film because in that film he didn't crack a jokes He was very serious I think it did okay job Developing Thor's character. Although I felt like He added way too much MCU humor, Now unlike Avengers 8 of Ultron I think this film did okay with the MCU jokes because some of the jokes were really funny like the stuff with Russell Crowe as Zeus that was really funny But again the cancer stuff was not that funny and I wish that he made the tone of the film like the first film. But otherwise I think he did a decent job directing this movie.

So in conclusion I don't think this film is as bad as a lot of people saying it is because i think Black Widow is a lot more forgettable because at least with this film I remember what happens in it and to be honest i did the acting with much better because in Black Widow the performances were just really dull well with this movie the performances are really fun and entertaining even Chris Hemsworth which this is his worst performance as Thor because they made Thor really stupid but you can still say that Chris Hemsworth is having a lot of fun as this character. Also Russell Crowe for what he has as Zeus he is still really funny and really entertaining to watch. But the actor who stole the show is Christian Bale as Gore the God butcher because he gets such a really menacing and downright really tragic performance at this character. Now I will say I think Christian Bale's Batman Is much better written because the Dark Knight soldiers more consistent than this film. But I still think Gorr The god butcher is really fun his motivations are actually really incredible how he wants to steal storm breaker so he can open the gates to eternity to wish all the gods To die but then he does change by sacrificing himself to bring his daughter back I think his motivations were really tragic and really interesting. Also the themes with Gorr The God butcher are really fun whether it's him confronting Thor in the shadow realm or him getting the Necrosword it does lead to some really creepy and some really fun moments throughout the film. Now I will say though I think Xu Wenwu Is a much more strongly written villain. But I still think Gore is up there with Wenwu as one of my favorite villains in phase 4. But I will say though I think Gorr should have been in the second Thor movie because that film had a really terrible villain but I think that they put Gorr as the main villain that film the movie would have been a lot better. Also the action scenes in the film well over the top and silly they're still fun to watch despite how Goofy they are even the climate battle though ridiculous I think it's a lot better than the climax in suicide Squad from 2016 because though that could sequences were really bad. Now I will say though I don't think this movie is as good as the first store movie because this film is really inconsistent with its tone it has too many jokes in it. But that being said I think it's better than Black Widow because black widow would just forgettable well this is memorable and entertaining. I highly recommend you watch this film especially if you enjoy The Ant-Man movies with Paul Rudd then I'm sure you're going to like this film as well. I give this movie a 6/10.
