Here is My Movie Review of Avengers Age of Ultron

Here is My Movie Review of Avengers Age of Ultron

Now the storyline of this film could have been really interesting because it revolved around the Avengers taking down Ultron which were the robot made by Tony Stark/ iron Man and Bruce Banner/Hulk To protect the world. Now the storyline could have been interesting because the marketing for this film made it into a straight up horror movie but instead it just comes off and then meth and a very generic MCU comedy film because there's a subplot revolving around Hawkeye and his family Then there's stuff with Thor and something have to do with Asgard. Then you have the whole thing with The Scarlet Wench and her brother Quicksilver Timing up with Ultron and then turning against him And then they have to team up to take down Ultron And this is probably the messiest storyline In the MCU because it could have been really good if the movie stayed in tone with the marketing but no they decide to make it a MCU comedy film which really ruined this film's potential.

Now the performances are still really terrific even when the film is not working because it's the writing and the directing that ruins most of the characters in this film. To be honest out of all the Avengers films this one probably had the worst acting which is really disappointing because the first one did have brilliant acting but this one well the actors are trying this is still  a terribly written Avengers film.

Robert Downey Jr plays Tony Stark/Iron Man In the film. I have to say even parts wear this movie is not working Robert Downey Jr still does a terrific job as the character you can tell that he still having a lot of fun as this character. But I have to say Tony Stark / Iron Man is kind of an idiot in this movie because he makes this robot named Ultron but yet he doesn't tell the other Avengers that he made an evil robot that is playing to kill all of humanity and that just fell out of character because Tony Stark will never lie to his team and I get why he made old fun is because he was still traumatized Of the whole Wormhole incident in the first Avengers film because he almost died. But making Iron Man a liar in this movie was a really bad choice and it really ruined his character in this film. Now that are some Entertaining moments with Tony Stark/ Iron Man like the scene where he is fighting the Hulk or him Meeting vision for the first time it did lead to some really fun and entertainment throughout the film. The chemistry between him and Chris Evans, James Spader, Chris Hemsworth, Elizabeth Olsen, Andy Serkis, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Paul Benttany,  and Aaron Taylor Johnson is still remarkable

Mark Ruffalo plays Bruce Banner / the Hulk. Now I have to say he's still does a glorious job as the character because even in parts where this film is not working Mark Ruffalo is still entertaining as Bruce Banner /The Hulk. Now Birth Banner / the Hulk is just like how he is in the First Avengers film he tries to control him emotions but for some weird reason he also comes off kind of dumb because much like Tony Stark / Iron Man he makes Ultron without the other Avengers knowing what's going on so he Kai also lined and that felt really weird and out of character And the thing that is still really weird is that for some reason he develops feelings towards Natasha Romanov/Black Widow and that was just really dumb and really weird. Now I will unlike in Avengers Endgame This movie does not make Hulk into a goofy character he is completely serious throughout the film. Now there are some really fun and entertainment moments with Bruce Banner/ the Hulk Weather at him attacking the city or him turning into the Hulk it still leads to some really fun and suspenseful moments throughout the film. The chemistry between him and Robert Downey Jr is still awesome

Chris Evans as Steve Rogers / Captain America Still does a terrific job as the character and even parts were this movie is not working Chris Evans still does a excellent job in this film. Now as for the character of Steve Rogers / Captain America he wasn't terrible by God said they make him way too silly in the film now it's not as badAs like the Hulk in Avengers End game But it's still weird Because otherwise watching this I didn't think of Steve Rogers / Captain America I actually thought of Chris Evans as the human torch Because he just made way too many jokes in the film now there are moments where Captain America taken seriously But I just didn't like how they made them overly silly in the film but luckily they did Fix him in other MCU films after this one. Now there are great moments with Captain America in the film like the scene where he He is trying to lift Doris Hammer Or him attacking Ultron in the climax it does lead to some really fun and entertaining moments in the film But the writing for Captain America was really bad in this film.

Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye. I still think he does a Excellent as this character. What makes Clint Barton /Hawkeye such a great character is that he, much like the rest of the Avengers, wants to take down Ultron. My only problem with Hawkeye is that the scene where he talks to his wife Laura  went on for a bit too long. I feel like they should have taken that scene out. Probably the funniest moments of the film is the rivalry between him and Pietro Maximoff / Quicksilver. The chemistry between him and Robert Downey Jr. is still marvelous

Scarlett Johansson plays Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow In the film and her performance is still terrific because even part of where this movie is not working she is still entertaining at the character. Now the character of Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow is relatively the same you know she still doesn't take nonsense from anybody she wants to help the other Avengers take down Ultron but the dumbest thing that they did to her in this film is for some reason they decide to have her be Hulk's love interest which that was just really stupid and out of character because if anyone should be in a relationship with her it should be Hawkeye even though it'll be forced but at least it would be relevant to a character because black Widow in Hawkeye have been on several missions together when they were Shield agents. But for some reason this phone needs to decide to have her be birth banners like love and now just really weird. Now there are entertaining moments with Black Widow like the scene where she had the memory of her in the red room or her helping the rest of the Avengers take down Ultron And it doesn't lead to some entertaining moments in the film. I just wish the writing for her was better. The chemistry between her and Robert Downey Jr is still great

Aaron Taylor Johnson plays Pietro Maximoff /Quicksilver In the film and to be completely as he is completely wasted In the film and you could just cut this character out because he's just here to die can and did not get any character development and when does become a member of The Avengers it felt kind of pointless because it was pretty obviously that he was going to die. Now Aaron Taylor Johnson does the best he can with the material he really does but it feels like he was cast at the last second.

Andy Serkis as Klaw. Even though he is only in one scene in the film. I still think he does a great job as this character. I still think he is really smart and really intimidating. I also like how this movie sets up Black Panther when Ultron cuts Klaw´ s arm off. The chemistry between him and James Spader is still great.

Paul Benttley voices Vision In the film and he still does a magnificent job as the character you can tell that Paul Benttley Is having a lot of fun as this character even part where this movie is not working he is still really entertaining as this character. Now the character of Vision Is really well written in this film because he doesn't crack any jokes he is super serious throughout the film and he starts to develop feelings towards Wanda maximoff / the Scarlet Witch and that was a really great aspect to this character because it foreshadows their relationship later on in the future of the MCU. Also The scene where Vision confront Ultron at the end of the film is probably one of the best moments of the entire film and it was the only moment that Ultron felt intimidating But again due to the horrible writing Ultron is still a terrible villain so this scene it works For the film that's in but in terms of like giving Ultron a really intimidating moment it really doesn't do it well at all. Fun fact actors like Matthew Lewis, James Marsden, Jason Momoa, John Krasinski, Paul Rudd, Matthew McConaughey, Brian Timothy Geraghty, Jack Huston, Eddie Redmayne, Nicholas Hoult, Bradley Cooper were all considered to voice Vision. The chemistry between him and Robert Day Jr is still great.

However the absolute big standout of the entire film is Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/the Scarlet Witch Because even parts where this movie is not working Elizabeth Olsen still give the really Captivating and entertaining performance. Now the character of Wanda Maximoff /The Scarlet Witch is probably the best written character of the entire film Because she does start off at the villain and then she had the change of heart after she finds out what Ultron is really plain to do by killing all the humans and her change of heart in this film is the strongest thing in this entire film and every moment with the score which is really Terrific weather it is the scene of her watching her brother die and killing Ultron or her Meeting The Avengers for the first time I will say all those moments are probably the best moments of the entire film. The chemistry between her and Robert Day Jr is still great.  Fun fact actresses like Saoires Ronan, Sasha Pieterse, Daisy Ridley, Chloe Grace Moretz, Lindsay Lohan were all considered to play Scarlet Witch.

Chris Hemsworth plays Thor In the film in his performance is really tremendous now I will say Chris Hemsworth's best performance as Thor is either way the first door film but in this film I don't think he would that bad he wasn't overly silly he was really serious like he was in that first door film and to be completely honest even parts were this movie is failing Chris Hemsworth is still the best thing in this film he is still entertaining as Thor. Now Thor the character is just how he is in the first Thor film he's very serious and he doesn't take nonsense from anybody And he wants to take down Ultron much like the rest in The Avengers. Now there are really awesome and fun moments with Thor whether it is the scene where he says is that the best you can do in Ultron says this is the best I could do or the scene where the Avengers are trying to lift his hammer and it does foreshadow the the events in Avengers endgame and it did lead to some really funny and some really important stuff in the film. The chemistry between him and Robert Downey Jr is still tremendous.

Josh Brolin as Thanos. Even though you only see him in the post credit scene I still think he does a great job as this character. I still think he is really intimidating and really smart. I like how I grab the Infinity Gauntlet Thenos says Fin I'll do it myself and find that he is going to wipe out half of the universe. I like how it sets up Avengers Infinity War and Avenger Endgame

However the worst performance in this entire film is James Spader as Ultron because the nun only was he way too over the top and sell me but I feel like it was a horrible idea to cast a human actor I think they should have used the computer because technically you don't really need a human actor to voice Ultron I think that one made them a lot more scarier. Now speaking of that Ultron as a character could have been really good because the trailers marketed him as a really scary and really horrifying MCU villain because the trailer made this out to be a horror movie. Or if they were going to use a human actor they should have used Jamie Campbell Bower because I think he would have done a way better job and he can put on that Vecna voice Even though he would be Miss cast I would buy him more than James Bader because he'll be a lot more intimidating and he would have made Ultron away better villain and he would have given the best performance in the entire MCU it would have been one of the best MCU villain performances. but in the end they Didn't do that and just cast James Spader and Made Ultron into a generic and overly silly MCU villain and that was really bad because again he could have been a good villain if the the film actually stuck to the tone of the trailer then Ultron would have been a perfect MCU villain. But sense the MCU couldn't stick with that tone they just made Ultron to a silly and a really dumb MCU villain. Now the scenes with Ultron in concept are really great like the scene where he introduces himself to the Avengers the problem is James Spader's line delivery is really bad so every moment that could be intimidating just comes off as goofy or just really weird. To be honest if you want to watch a better version of this character then just go watch Ultron from Marvel's what if. Now I'm going to say this even though he's not really an MCU villain go watch Vecna from Stranger Things because he is a lot more scarier because Jamie Campbell Bower was a more intimidating because he does not crack a stupid jokes. Also Even The Void from Thunderbolts and Pitch Black from Rise of the Guardians were more scary than Ultron because the monologue that The Void says to Bob You thought you were some great man. Some savior. You can't even save yourself. We will always be alone. Also when Pitch Black says to Jack Frost you want to be alone Jack then fine be alone. Now the really dumb thing is that Rise Of The Guardians is a kids movie because is PG and Avengers Age of Ultron is PG-13. But yet Rise of the Guardians was a lot more mature than this film and Jude Law was even more scary as Pitch Black and even Lewis Pullman was more scary as The Void. Then James Spader was as Ultron in this film and that is just pathetic. So all those characters I mentioned Vecna, The Void, Pitch Black, Ultron from Marvel's What If they are all more comic accurate Interpretations of Ultron. Then Ultron is In this film that's how dumb this interpretation of the character is because these villains are more comic accurate than Ultron was in the film that just shows how pathetic the MCU was of adapt him. Fun fact actors like Neil Patrick Haris, Christopher Walken, Al Pacino, Ben Mendelsonh, Michael Fassbender, Jason Lee, James Franco, Topher Grace, Steve Buscemi, Hugo Weaving, David Tennant, John C Riley, Timothy Olyphant, Patrick Stewart, Joaquin Phoenix, Ron Perlman, Tom Hanks, David Duchovny, Daniel Day-Lewis, Vin Diesel, Toby Maguire, Danny DeVito, Christopher Lloyd, Justin Long, and Jesse Eisenberg were all considered to voice Untron.

However the worst thing about this movie is easily the directing by Joss Whedon because I didn't hate his directing in the first Avengers film because he kept the film consistent there were jokes but it was mostly serious. But with this he went way too far with the jokes because every time they'll be a serious moment he decides to ruin the moment by having a stupid or out of his joke to try to show that he can write funny dialogue but he really can't because most of the jokes in this movie are not funny. the worst part of this entire thing is that he can't direct a good villain at all because Ultron had the potential of a fantastic villain but Joss Whedon decided to be a complete idiot and decided to make Ultron into a another terrible MCU villain and that's really disappointing because the marketing made it out that Ultron was going to be a really scary villain but in the end Joss Whedon decide to make pathetic and really dumb MCU villain. The only thing I liked about his directing is that he did a good job of developing The Scarlet Witch and Vision. But other than that he was the wrong choice to direct this film so overall I think he did a really bad job directing this film. To be honest I think they should have hired the Duffer Brothers who directed Stranger Things because I think they would done a way better job of making Ultron a lot more menacing and more comic book accurate like they did with Vecna in Stranger Things. But again marvel be Marvel they're never happy of what script they're given so they just rewrite the whole thing and turn anything into a dumb joke.

So in conclusion this movie had so much potential because this could have been the best Avengers film because you had the Avengers going up a much more stronger villain than Loki that being Ultron and the trailer is made out that this is going to be a fall on horror movie and I think that would have been tremendous it would have made Ultron a lot more threatening and I think I would like the film more because it would not have any stupid jokes. But that didn't happen because Josh Whaiden wanted to make this into a phone MCU comedy film and he succeeded and ruined every bit of potential that Ultron had as the villain. To be honest the storyline could have been good but it's just a A meth of a story and it's probably one of the messiest MCU storylines of any MCU film. Now the performance is were really good for the most part you know Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans Mark Ruffalo, Elizabeth Olsen was the standout performance so all the performances were amazing except for James Spader as Ultron he was really bad it was another way down to the writing as well that made these characters kind of really dumb in terms of their decision making and how they were developed in this film. Also there were some enter the moments like vision meeting The Avengers for the first time or the Avengers trying to lift door's hammer or Hulk raging out. But then you'll get a really stupid moment like black Widow in the Hulk having feelings towards each other which that came out of nowhere and that was the dumbest moment in the film. Also again Ultron have potential To be a really tremendous villain but instead this movie turned him into a really stupid and really overly comedic though and that was not funny. Now the action seeds were pretty good they weren't great but they were Good enough. Also the climactic battle even though it was just okay this probably had the worst climax of any Avengers because It could have been an epic climax If they just made Ultron scary. But again the writing is the biggest problem of this film and I already said about the directing. Now I don't hate this movie because it did have some good qualities as I already said. But in the words of Zorg from the Fifth Element i was very disappointed with this film. To be honest this could have been a great Avengers film but it was really dumb and really cheesy instead. So I say skip this movie and go watch the other Avengers or go watch the Ant-Man movies because they are more consistent with their tone because they know how to be funny and they know how be serious at the same time. I give this movie a 5/10.
