Here is My Movie Review of Menari

Here is My Movie Review of Menari

So basically what happens is that you have this guy named Jacob and his family and they are moving to California and they tried to start a farm to make money and then David finds out that their grandmother is coming and he is not really happy about it because he said that she's not a real grandma. But then he find out that after overhearing his mother and dad and grandmother that he's diagnosed with a heart condition So they send them to the hospital to get an ultrasound and it turns out that the hole is pretty small. And it's up to them to provide for each other to Keep the farm. That is basically what the story is for this movie.

The acting in this movie is really great.

Steven Yeun plays Jacob In the film. I have to say he does a fantastic job as the character. What makes Jacob such a great character is that he really wants to provide for the family by building a farm and teaching David the importance of family. The chemistry between him and Han Ye-ri Noel Cho, Yuh-Jung-Youn and Alan S. Kim is really great.

Ye-ri Does a great job as the character of Monica. What makes Monica Such a great character is that all she wants to do is much like her husband  wants to provide for the family by building a farm. Probably the second most saddest scene is where he finds out that his wife has a stroke and she's in the hospital. That is probably the second most emotional scene in this movie. The chemistry between her and Steve Yeun is really great.

Noel Cho Does a great job as the character of Anne. What makes Anne such a great character Is that much like her parents she also wants to provide for the family with the farm. Now she is kind of mean to her brother David in the first half of the film but then later on they start to get along And that's totally normal because in real life some siblings do have arguments but then they apologize and forgive each other. The chemistry between her and Steve Yeun is really Incredible

Youn Yuh-Jung plays of Soonja In the film. I have to say she does does amazing job as this character. What makes Soonja such a Outstanding character is that all she wants is to make David happy and spend time with him and at first David doesn't seem to like her at first but then toward the middle of the film they start to get along and start bonding. The chemistry between her and Steven Yeun, Alan S. Kim Han Ye-ri, and  Noel Cho is really awesome.

However the absolute big standout of the entire film is Alan S. Kim. as David. What makes David such a character and that all he wants to do is to make his family. I got to empathize and sympathize with him because he, much like me he also his  through a  lot of ultrasounds when I had to go through many ultrasounds during my  kidney transplant. Probably the saddest scene in this movie is where he overhears his family and he realizes that he has a heart condition. It is probably the saddest scene in this movie. Another sad moment in the film is what he had to watch his house be burnt down and had to watch his grandmother go into the fire to save his mom and dad. you could just see how hard it affects him because he doesn't want his grandmother to die in the fire along with his mom and dad. The chemistry between him and Steven Yeun, Han Ye-ri, Noel Cho, and Youn Yuh-Jung is really great.

The directing. By Lee Isaac Chung. What I like about her directing Is that she does a great job of tackling the subject of immigration because in real life if you're from another country and you have to move to a state it could be really scary because you don't know the nationality or culture yet and you have to learn about it. I think it is really cool how she did  that.

So in conclusion I really enjoyed the film. I like how it tackled the subject of immigration. I think this is probably the saddest A24 film that I have seen. I think more people should watch it especially if you enjoy the A24 film the Farewell with Awkwafina. I think this is in my top 10 favorite A24 films. I give this movie a 10/10.
