Here is my Movie Review of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
So basically what happens is that you have Doctor Strange who has been experiencing recurring nightmares of the Multiverse and he means this girl named American Chavez And she tells them that there's more variances of him in the mountain. Then you have Wanda Maximoff Trying to find a variant of her kids by using the book The Darkhold but It causes her to go insane. So it's up to Doctor Strange, Wong, and American Chavez to take down Scarlett winch and save the multiverse. That is basically what the story is to this movie.
The acting in this movie is probably the best acting from any Marvel Cinematic Universe movie in Phase 4.
Benedict Cumberbatch absolutely nailed it as Doctor Strange Because just to see how much this character has grown since his very first Marvel Cinematic Universe debut Because in Doctor Strange he was really full of himself he didn't really care about saving the world. But in this movie he desperately wants to fix everything. He also plays the evil Doctor Strange and the zombie Doctor Strange and he does a great job Playing all these variants of Doctor Strange. What makes the evil doctor change such a great side villain is that You can feel bad for him because he acknowledges in the film that his little sister died because she fell in the ice when they were kids. What makes zombie Doctor Strange such a great character that much like the original Dr Strange He also wants to stop Scarlet Witch and Save the multiverse. The chemistry between him and Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, Chiwetel Ejorfor, John Krasinski, Patrick Stewart, Rachel McAdams, and Elizabeth Olsen is amazing.
Benedict Wong does a spectacular job as Wong. What makes Wong such a great character It shows just how far his character has developed Because in the first Doctor Strange He was a side character. But in Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and in this movie he plays a major role in this film. I like how he had a few funny jokes in this movie. But I like how he's mostly serious through the majority of the film. Probably the best moment with long is where he mentions to Dr Strange that it is dangerous to dream walk between dimensions and not only one that it really powerful moment by makes sense because he mentions that if he does it succeed he might die in the process. It's probably the most shocking moment of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Benedict Cumberbatch is still exquisite
Chiwetel Ejiofor Does an excellent job as Baron Mordo. What makes Baron Mordo such a great antagonist of the film. It is cool just to see how far this character has developed because in the first film He started out as a mentor to Dr Strange. But then he became a villain. and in this movie he is kind of one of the villains in the film, because if you think about it, he still had a burning hatred of Doctor Strange because he became Sorcerer Supreme and not him. The rivalry between him and Doctor Strange is perfect. The chemistry between him and Benedict Cumberbatch is excellent
Xochitl Gomez does a terrific job as America Chavez. What makes America Chavez such a extraordinary character Is that you feel bad for her because in a flashback acknowledges that she accidentally used her powers and sent her parents through a portol and you can see why she wants to try to control her powers. I like how she has a few funny jokes but she's mostly serious in this movie. Probably the best moment with American Chavez Is where Ninjas to Doctor Strange that it's not fun to be stuck in the paint universe and not only was it really funny but it makes sense because he mentioned that it's hard to eat food in that universe. It's probably one of the funniest moments of the entire film. The chemistry between her and Benedict Cumberbatch is awesome. I'm looking forward to seeing her in her own Disney + show. Fun fact actresses like Lily Resto and Isabela Merced were both considered to play America Chavez.
Atwell reprises her role as Captain Carter from what if and she does a great job playing the character. My favorite part is where Captain Carter is finding the score which she says I could do this all day.¨ which is a reference to Steve Rogers catchphrase when he was Captain America in the MCU. Much like the rest of the Illuminati Captain Carter does die in the film It is probably one the most surprising moments along with the rest of the deaths of the Illuminati.
John Krasinski as Reed Richards is tremendous. What makes Reed Richard such an entertaining character is that he knows about the multiverse as well as Dr Strange. If you think about it you can now say that the Fantastic Four are in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I hope we see more of him in the future moving forward with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The chemistry between him and Benedict Cumberbatch is really tremendous. Also much like Charles Xavier when Reed Richards dies in this movie it is really shocking.
Patrick Stewart does an outstanding job in this film because what makes Charles Xavier such a interesting character is that much like Reed Richards and Doctor Strange He also knows a lot about the multiverse. I got to say it is so awesome to hear Patrick Stewart's voice again. His death in this movie is really surprising. Probably the best moment with Charles Xavier is where he goes inside Wanda's head and tries to read them with her but she doesn't take it really well and snaps his neck which killed them and not only was it a very shocking disturbing moment but it makes sense because Wanda Maximoff / the score at which didn't want to change and she was still pursuit of her mission to kill American child in this bike using her multi-verse jumping powers to go to a universe so she could be with her kids. It's probably the most horrifying sequence of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Benedict Cumberbatch is really Awesome. Fun fact this is Patrick Stewart's 18th time playing Charles Xavier.
Fun fact actors Ian McKellen or Michael Fassbender were rumored to reprise the role as Magneto so basically in this film would have shown a variant of Magneto that was the father to Wanda Maximoff It would have been more accurate to the comic books and that would be cool if either of those actors came back to play the character.
Elizabeth Olsen absolutely nailed it as the Scarlet Witch. What makes her such a astonishing villain is downright horrifying in this movie. She is really scary. Her motivation is really understandable because all she wants is to be reunited with her kids. The scene where she kills Charles Xavier by snapping his neck inside of his mind has to be one of the scariest scenes in this film. Her design is also really great. It is really cool just to see how far Scarlet Witch has grown as a character because in Avengers Age of Ultron she's starting out as a villain. But later on in the movies she starts to become good. But in the movie she is downright evil. But you also feel really bad for her because she wasn't doing this to be evil she was doing this to get her kids back. Probably the best moment with Wanda Maximoff / the Scarlet Witch is where She confronts the Illuminati and they try to reason with her but she end up killing almost all of them not only they really scary moment but it makes sense because she would do everything her power to get what she wants. It's probably the most disturbing moment of the entire film. the rivalry between her and Doctor Strange, Wong, Charles Xavier, Read Richards, and America Chavez is excellent. The chemistry between her and Benedict Cumberbatch is astonishing.
The special effects in this movie are fantastic I think the special effects are better than they were in the first Doctor Strange. The action scenes in this movie are really fun. My favorite action sequence in this movie is where Doctor Strange and Wong are fighting the giant tentacle monster. The final battle in this movie is probably my favorite climax in the Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 4 so far.
But I don't think this movie would have been nearly as awesome as it was If it wasn't for the directing of Sam Raimi. He does a phenomenal job directing this movie because he knows how to do horror because he directed the Evil Dead movies. I have to say this movie really scared me because the scene that scared me the most is the scene when Scarlett Witch looks into the mirror and there are tentacle things that come out of the mirror. Now when it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe it doesn't really scare me because movies like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 Have some darker moments but mostly It is a light-hearted Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. But this movie is really morbid and really disturbing. Fun fact directors like Ari Aster, Mike Flanag, and Jennifer Kent were all considered to direct this movie.
So in conclusion This is still one of the best MCU movies in Phase 4. I still think this one has a much stronger storyline than the first Doctor Strange film I also think that the dynamic between Doctor Strange and America Chavez is the strongest aspect of the film. I also love the horror in the film and there were a lot of money that made me jump particularly the scene where Wonder Maximal / the Scarlet Witch gains long spider legs and she's chasing Doctor Strange Wong in America Travis down a hallway and it's probably about disturbing horror sequence of the entire film. This is still one of my favorite films of 2022. Wanda Maximoff/The Scarlet Which is still up there with the radar from Batman as one of the best villains of 2022. I highly recommend you watch this film especially if you like Deadpool and Wolverine with Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds. I also think Wanda Maximoff / the Scarlet Witch is up there with Cassandra Nova and one of the best villains of the 2020s. I give this movie a 10/10.
