Here is My Movie Review of Blue Beetle

Here is My Movie Review of Blue Beetle

Now when I saw the trailer for this movie I was really interested and the funny thing is I was more excited for this film than the Marvels because It just looked a lot more interesting and a lot more fun to watch. So maybe this will be one of the better DCEU films. It might be dark. They might throw a cup of  jokes in there because I wasn't the biggest fan in this universe because everything felt so disturbing and depressing and none of the characters were accurate to the comics aside from Wonder Woman and Aquaman most of the characters were just horrible interpretations of their comic counterparts. Also even the villains weren't that really great aside from the villains in the Wonder Woman movies and the suicide Squad from 2021 And the Aquaman films most of the villains were garbage they were really bad and really terribly written and The performances weren't that good.  Also in terms of films I wasn't really the biggest fan of them I did like the suicide Squad i enjoyed the Aquaman movies in the Wonder Woman movies and the Shazam movies. Besides that I thought Man Of Steel was boring. I hated Suicide Squad 2016.  So I watched this film and let me tell you I really enjoyed this movie. I love it.  Now I will say Guardians of the Galaxy vol 3 is the best comic book film of 2023. But I really liked it because it rectified some of my biggest problems with the DCEU because I like the other DCEU films like the really bad ones that focus on Darkness and Characters killing each other and killing instant people. This film does the complete opposite because it focuses on the emotion of Jaime Reyes /Blue Beetle and his family. Now there are some funny jokes that made me laugh. But I actually liked the film when it was more emotional and that is actually what holds this movie together. The emotional stuff throughout the entire movie is the strongest thing in the film.

Now when it comes to the DCEU i really don't think they did a good job telling their stories because most of them are either boring or they are just way too messy like suicide squad from 2016. To be honest the Wonder Woman movies The Aquaman movies and The suicide Squad 2021 are the only DCEU films to tell amazing and emotional stories. Now with this film it really does deliver because the storyline is About Jaime  Reyes /Blue Beetle Wanted to protect his family because he really cared about them and he has to become Blue Beetle to protect the ones that he cares about that being his family and his girlfriend Jenny Kord from her evil aunt Victoria  Kord and learn how to be a superhero so it's kind of like a mix between Spider-Man with a bit of Ant-Man thrown in as well. To be honest I really enjoy the storyline in this film. It was really emotional and I think that is the thing that makes the story perfect is that it focuses on the emotional core of the film which is Jaime  Reyes /Blue Beetle and his family.

Now another problem that I had with the DCEU was the acting because mother the acting in these movies were really bad because I signed from the Wonder Woman movies The Suicide Squad 2021 The Shazam movies And the aquaman movies. Most of the acting in this universe with really bad especially from Suicide Squad 2016 now and had really terrible acting. But with this film all the acting is tremendous because every single person is giving it their all and you can tell that all of them are having a lot of fun as their characters.

But the actor that really stole the entire movie is Xolo Mariduena who plays Jaime Reyes/Beetle because he gives one of the most captivating and one of the most emotional performances of the entire film because he is the big standout of the entire film. Now as tremendous as Xolo Mariduena’s performance is in the film. The character of Jaime Rayes / Blue Beetle Is actually the best thing in this movie in fact he is my favorite character throughout the film because you really care about him because you can just see how much he is very protective over his family and wants to protect them at all costs because he doesn't want them to die or get hurt. Also Jaime Rayes / Blue Beetle does go through a really powerful and emotional character he loses someone he really cared about and he does learn how to be a hero to protect his family. Now there are so many really powerful and emotional moments with Jamie Rayes / Blue Beetle but either way my favorite moment is where Jaime Rayes / Blue Beetle watches his father Alberto Rayes die he just completely lose it he breaks down crying he kind of blames himself for not saving him And he starts seeking revenge on Victoria Kord and her crew and it's pretty similar to the scene in Spider-Man no way home where Spider-Man wanted revenge on Green Goblin for killing his Aunt May it's very similar to that. It is probably the saddest moment of the entire film. But there are moments where Jaime Ray's / blue beetle is funny like the scene where his family is cheering him on as he is going to the laboratory to get a job and he gets embarrassed but he does really care about his family and it's probably one of the funniest moments of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Damian Alcazar, Bruna Marquezine, George Lopez, Adriana Barraza, Belissa Escobedo, Elpidia Carrillo Susan Sarandon, and Raoul Max Trujillo is remarkable.

Someone else who really gave a really captivating and mesmerizing performance was Damian Alcazar  who plays Jaime Rayes /Blue Beetle’s dad Alberto Rayes and he did a magnificent job playing this character. Now as glorious as Damian Alcazar’s Performance is in this movie. The character of Alberto Rayes is magnificent because this is the guy who really cares about his family. He really wants to set his son Jaime Rayes/ Blue Beetle on the right path to becoming a hero and protect his family. The scene where Alberto Rayes  Is talking to his son Jaime Rayes /Blue Beetle in the afterlife and explain to him that he has to be the hero to protect his family because He believes that his son can protect them and keep them safe it's one of the most beautiful in one the most emotional moments of the entire film because even though Jaime lost his dad he still gave him Really powerful advice of how to become a hero for his family. The chemistry between him and Xolo Mariduena  is magnificent.

Someone else who really was tremendous in the film was Elpidia Carrillo who plays Jaime Rayes /Blue Beetle’s mother  Rocio Rayes and she gives a really emotional and terrific performance in this film. Now the character of Rocio Rayes  Is probably one of the most emotional characters in the film because she really cared about her family but she especially cared about her her son Jaime Rayes/Blue Beetle because she wants him to protect his family and be the best hero the world have ever seen and doesn't want Anything bad happened to him or her family. Now there are a lot of really powerful and beautiful moments with Rocio Rayes. If I had to pick my favorite moment it'll be actually at the end where she finds out that her son Jaime is the blue beetle and she hugged them and it's really beautiful and really fun to watch because she didn't want anything bad happened to her son it why him to protect her and their family and it's probably one of the most beautiful moments throughout the film. The chemistry between her and Xolo Mariduena is brilliant.

Someone else who really surprised me in terms of giving a really magnificent and fun performance was Adriana Barraza who plays Jaime's Rayed/Blue Beetle’s grandmother Nana In the film and she did a remarkable and fantastic job as the character because you can tell that she also gives a really captivating and emotional performance but she was also really funny in the film because you get to tell that she is having a lot of fun as this character. Now the character of Nana is really incredible because she really cares about her grandson Jaime Rayed/Blue Beetle because she wants him to protect her and the rest of the family and be the hero that the world needs. The scenes with Nana Are really fun and really entertaining especially the scene during the climax of the film where she had the gun in Jaime's reaction was really funny because he didn't know that his grandmother had a special skill of using a gun to protect their family It is probably the funniest moment of the entire film. But there's also a lot of emotional moments with Nana, especially when she bonds with her family and is happy that her grandson Jaime Rayed's / Blue Beetle came home to see them. It is probably one of the most beautiful and touchy moments of the entire film. The chemistry between her and Xolo Mariduena is spectacular.

Bruna Marquezine plays Jaime Rayed/Blue beetle’s Girlfriend Jenny Kord and she does a magnificent and incredible job as the character because she gives a really emotional and charismatic performance in the film. Now Jenny Kord as a character is probably one the most down-to-earth Earth characters of the entire film because she has shown that she really cares about hiring me and his family and wants him to protect his family and the world from any potential threats that may try to kill him and his family. The scenes with Jenny Kord are terrific, especially the moments where she and Jaime Rayed/Blue Beetle are bonding together or her helping Jaime Rayed/ blue beetle protect him and his family from OMAC. It does lead to some really powerful and really captivating moments in the film. Also the romance between her and Jaime Rayed/Blue Beetle is the strongest thing in this entire film because you really care about them as a couple. The chemistry between her and Xolo Mariduena is exhilarating.

Now a lot of people have been praising George Lopez’s Performance as Jaime Rayed’s Uncle Rudy Rayed And I definitely agree with them because his performance is probably one of the most emotional and perfect performances in the film because hear the heart and so of the entire film. Now the character of Rudy Rayed is a very interesting character because you can tell that he really cares for his nephew Jamie Rayed/Blue Beetle and wants him to protect their family and protect the world. The scenes with Rudy Rayed are fantastic especially in the third act where he tells his nephew Jamie Rayes/Blue Beetle that he will always  Have his father's memories to remember all the times that they really cared about each other and it's one of the most heartbreaking and one of the most beautiful moments of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Xolo Mariduena is magnificent.

Belissa Escobedo plays Jaime Ray's / Blue Beetle's younger sister Milagro Rayes In the film and she gives a really emotional and exhilarating performance as this character. Now the character of Milagro Rayes  is really incredible because she really cares about her older brother Jaime Rayes/Beetle because she wants him to protect their family and be the hero that the world needs. But she's also really badass in the film. The way she fights all those soldiers in the third act to protect her older brother was really amazing and really entertaining to see in the film. The scenes with Milagro Rayes are really fantastic whether it is her talking to her older brother Jaime saying that she will always care about him or her and the rest of the family rescuing Jaime Rayed/Blue Beetle so they could be all reunited as a family. It does lead to some really powerful and really terrific moments throughout the film. The chemistry between her and Xolo Mariduena  is remarkable.

Raoul Max Trujillo plays Victoria Kord’s helper Carapax/OMAC In the film and his performance is probably one of the most showing it one the most nail biting performances of the entire film. Now  Carapax/OMAC Is it said to be there to help Victoria Kord  fight Jaime Rayes/Blue Beetle But at the film goes on you do figure out more about his past it turns out carapax / OMAC’s mother was killed by Victoria Kord and she was taken away from his family so in a way you do feel sorry for him because he lost his whole family when he was younger. The scenes of him battling Jamie Rayes/Blue Beetle And it does lead to some really tremendous action sequences throughout the film. Also his battle armor looked really good. It kind of reminded me of Iron Monger from the very first MCU from where Obadia Stain in the climax was that gigantic Iron Man like fifth and was battling Tony Stark/ Iron Man. It really reminded me of that. The chemistry between him and Xolo Mariduena  is terrific.

Now the DCEU villains I am not a big fan of there's some I don't hate like I really enjoyed Aries from Wonder Woman. I like Maxwell Lord and Cheetah from Wonder Woman 1984. I enjoyed the villains in the suicide Squad Starro and The Thinker. But most of the DCEU villains are really bad I hated and Enchant from Suicide Squad I despise Lex Luthor from Batman versus Superman was garbage thought I just think general Zod is just a overrated villain. Now as for the villain in this film Victoria Kord I didn't care about the villain if I can sum her up she's basically just Darren Cross but as a woman and she just doesn't really have a personality she's just a generic and really Born though and her motivation she wants use the blue Beetle suit to sell to the military and that's kind  like an Ant-Man where Darren Cross  wanted to sell the Ant-Man suit to evil organizations like the Ten Rings and Hydra the difference being is that Darren Cross had a personality He was very intimidating and really entertaining and even Ant-Man 3 where he becomes M.O.D.O.K I still really enjoy him as a a villain. He was very fun and he was really funny and his death was really fun and probably the funniest moment in the Ant-Man Trilogy. Now Victoria Accord is played by Susan Sarandans and I think her performance kind of saves this villain from being our garbage. You know she does the best that she can with this material and you can tell that she is having a lot of fun as this character. The scenes with Victoria Kord are not that interesting aside from the way she died with his probably the most memorable scene with her as a villain. But other than that her themes are just really boring. I think she is up there with Dark Flash from The Flash as one of the most boring villains of 2023. The chemistry between her and Xolo Mariduena is wonderful.

However the best thing about this movie is the directing by Angel Manuel Soto Because what I like about his directory that he does a really tremendous job of giving Jaime Rays/Blue Beetle a really powerful and emotional cared dog because he really wants to protect Have family because he really cared about him and I really like how he takes the character of jaime Rayed/ blue beetle seriously because even though he does have funny jokes he really had a lot of emotion because he really cared about his family and when his father died in front of him he starts to break down and cries because he really cared about his dad. I also like how he shows the meaning of family in this film by having Jaime really care about them and wants to protect them and give each of the family members unique and really fun personalities. I think he did a magnificent job of directing this film.

So in conclusion I really loved this film because it actually rectified all my problems with the DCEU it gave me characters I actually care about. It actually had a really powerful and really emotional story about Jaime Rayed/Blue Beetle becoming a hero and protecting his family. It also focused on the lighthearted and emotional stuff rather than being dark and depressing like the other DCEU films. Also the action sequences were really good, especially the Climax with Blue Beetle and OMCA  battling and it is probably the best action sequence and I think it's up there with the climax in Guardians of  The Galaxy vol 3 as one of my favorite file battles of 2023. Also the performances are probably the best ever in the DCEU because most of the other DCEU films really bad performances like suicide Squad and the Flash. But with this film all the actors really stood out especially Xolo Mariduena who stole the entire show as Jaime Rayed/Blue Beetle because he gives such a raw and emotional performance in the film. To be honest the only thing I didn't like in the film was the villain Victoria Kord. I still think she was just a really bland and really generic villain. To be honest I think she's one of the most boring villains. But other than that I really loved this film. In fact this is probably in my top five favorite movies of 2023. I still think this film is up there with Spider-Man Across The Spider-Verse with Oscar Isaac as  one of the best films of 2023. I highly recommend you watch this film especially if you like really powerful and emotional films like Stranger Things The Piggyback with Millie Bobby Brown then I'm sure you're going to like this one as well. I give this movie a 10/10.

Here is My Movie Review of Piggy

Here is My Movie Review of Piggy

Now here is the interesting thing about this film. A lot of people say this is one of the best films of 2022. So I watched it and I really didn't like this movie because it was just kind of really weird. It was just about a girl being made fun of because she's fat and she goes crazy and tries to kill her family and people who have mocked her. I think this is one of the most overrated films of 2022. The experience that I had with this film is the same experience that my friend Lou had when he watched Saltburn from 2023 because he said the acting was good. But he didn't like the movie because it was really weird and it was a rip off to the talented Mr Ripley. Now I actually really like Saltburn. I thought it was really fun and really entertaining. But to be totally honest I would rather rewatch salt burn than ever watch this film again.  Now, there are some good things in the film. I will talk about my  review.

Now a lot of people say the storyline is really good having it revolve around this girl named Sarah who is mistreated because she is fat and people calling  Sarah a pig and piggy because she is overweight and she decides to get revenge on all of them for the way they picked on her. Now to be honest I don't hate this idea having a high school student who wants revenge on people who bullied her because she is fat. But it doesn't work in execution because you don't really buy Sarah going crazy. Because in misery you can tell right from the start that Annie Wilkes is going to snap and try to kill Paul Sheldon even though she is obsessed with him and I think her eventual downfall to being crazy works better than Sarah's downfall in this film because Misery they built it up and this film it just randomly happens without any buildup at all.

Now I will say the best thing about this film is the acting. I think all the performances are terrific but most of the characters are unlikable and you don't feel bad for any of them except for the main character and one other character.

However the biggest standout of the entire film is Laura Galan as Sarah and even parts where this movie is not working Laura Galan  does give a really emotional and captivating performance. Now the character of Sarah you do feel bad for because her classmates are making fun of her because she's fat, her father mistreats her and abuses her and she wants to get revenge on the people who wronged her. The scenes of Sarah breaking down crying and her going after her family does lead to some really sad and heart pounding moments of the entire film. The chemistry between her and Carmen Machi, Joes Pastor, Julian Valcarcel Is decent.

Carmen Machi plays Sarah's mother Madre De Sara in film and even parts where this movie is not working she does give a really fun and entertaining performance. Now the character of Madre De Sara is really unlikable because even though she does care for her daughter Sarah most of the film she's just yelling and abusing the crap out of her and you don't really buy them as a mother and daughter all they did was argue throughout the film.  The scene of Madre De Sara Telling Sarah to except the fact that she is fat and it'll just uncomfortable to watch because it just shows how unlikable Madre De Sara Is probably one the dumbest moments of the entire film Now I understand why they did they tried to show that Sarah does need some tough love but it was done really badly. The chemistry between her and Laura Galan  is terrific.

Julian Valcarcel plays Sarah's dad Padare De Sara In the film and even parts where this film is not working he does give a really fun and entertaining performance. Now well the performance is really good the character of Padare De Sara  is just really unlikable because all he does is treat his daughter like shit and the season of arguing is just so dumb and just kind of means bearded because much like his wife he tries to give his daughter some tough love and does not work it's just really dumb and not really interesting. The chemistry between him and  Laura Galan is incredible.

Joes Pastor plays Pedro in the film and even parts where this film is not working he does give a really fun and captivating performance. Now the character of Pedro Is really interesting because he actually really cared about Sarah he doesn't treat her like garbage and he had the other character I like aside from Sarah I think in terms of the side character is he what the best one and the bonding between him and Sarah is probably the best thing about this movie to be honest if the film just focused around him and Sarah as friends then the film would have been a lot better. The scenes of them just talking or them riding on his motorcycle at the and it did lead to some really fun and some really emotional moments throughout the film. The chemistry between him and Laura Galan is fantastic.

Now let's talk about the directing by Carlota Pereda because a lot of people say she does a tremendous job with her directing and how she tackles the subject of what it is like for someone to be mistreated because they are fat. But for the most part I think she did a decent job of tackling that subject. I feel like you didn't do a good job of making you feel bad for any of the characters aside from the main character Sarah most of the other characters are just unlikable with the exception of Pedro who was the only good thigh character in the film. But other than that I don't think she did a terrific job of directing this film. Now I am happy that she made the film and I do respect her for making the film. I didn't think she did a subpar job directing this film.

So in conclusion I didn't really like this film mainly because the storyline in concept was really good but in execution it failed miserably because of the horrible writing. Now I will say that the performances are the highlight of this movie because all of them do a fantastic job as their character especially Laura Galan as Sarah who stole the entire movie and the relationship between Sarah and Pedro was the strongest aspect of the entire film. But other than that the characters were extremely unlikable except for Sarah and Pedro and it was just really weird and uncomfortable to watch just having all these people treat this girl like garbage because she was fat and it was just really weird and really strange. In this movie it felt like it was trying to be like misery when Kathy Bates in terms of the main character going crazy the difference being is that in Misery It builds up to Annie Wilkes being crazy well in this film they just say Sarah is crazy from the start because people call her piggy and it just didn't work. Now this is going to be a hot take but I think this is the most Overrated Movie of 2022 Because I'm going to say this Amsterdam and Thor Love and Thunder with Christian Bale are way better films than this one. Now if you like this movie that's fine but for me I just couldn't really get into it. I say in my opinion just skip this film and go watch The Black Phone with Ethan Hawke because the characters are a lot better written and the storyline is a lot better. I give this movie a 2/10.

Here is My Movie Review for The Man In My Basement

Here is My Movie Review for The Man In My Basement

Now when this film was announced I was very curious about this film mainly because it starred Willem Dafoe who was an actor I really enjoy in films like the Northman Spider-Man No Way Home Among many other films he has been in. So I watched this film and I have to say this is probably the most entertaining Stones of 2025. Now I will say movies like Superman,  28 Years Later are a lot better but this film was really entertaining.

Now the story is really interesting because it focuses around this guy named Charles Blakely who is one day approached by this guy named Anniston Bennett who wants to buy his house but Charles refuses. So Anniston Bennett decides to live in his basement and it doesn't sound that bad because Charles at first doesn't mine Anniston Bennett because he's shown to be really nice but as the film goes on Charles starts to suspect there something off about him so he has to do everything power to get and Anniston Bennett out of his house and that's basically what the story is for this film. Now the storyline is really It's really disturbing but really interesting having it revolve around this guy who doesn't  who doesn't want this random person to crash at their house but he will want to make decides to let really creepy and unstable guy to stay in the basement but then he eventually has enough that wants to get rid of him and it is a really interesting concept in the film executes it perfectly.

Now the performances are incredible because all the actors managed to give really creepy but really captivating performances because you can tell that these actors are having the time of their lives  in the film. I think the acting is up there with the acting in The long walk and one of the best acted films of 2025.

Corey Hawkins plays Charles Blakely In the film and his performance is magnificent because he gets such a raw and remarkable performances as this character because when Charles Blakley need to be all stressed out and worried Corey Hawkins does a glorious job of doing that when the character need to be emotional Hawkins does a great job with that as well. Now the character of Charles Blakely is someone you do feel bad for because he is about to lose his house and he doesn't want Anniston Bennett to take his house because he thinks that  Anniston Bennett is going to take over his house. The scenes with Charles Blakely are terrific whether it is the scene of him telling Anniston Bennett that he can't have his house or him going down into the basement and serving Anniston Bennett It does lead to some really unsettling and creepy moments throughout the film. The chemistry between him and  Willem Dafoe is magnificent.

Now let's talk about Willem Dafoe. Now he is a tremendous actor. He has given some really entertaining and captivating performances and films like Togo, Spider-Man No Way Home, and The Last Temptation Of Christ. Even in films where he plays a minor role like Asteroid City, The Northman, The Card Counter. He still gives really amazing performances. Now with this film that's no different because Willem Dafoe Give another incredible because he probably gives one of the most creepiest but yet most captivating performances of his entire career as the character of Anniston Bennett because when the character needs to be calm and manipulative Willem Dafoe does a fantastic job with that when the character needs to be really horrifying and crazy he also does a magnificent job of pulling that off as well because if you think about it you could say that Willem Dafoe is kind of playing the Joker in this movie because he switches from being calm to being downright psychopathic Because this is probably the closest thing we are going to get to having Willem Dafoe play The Joker in live action Now The character of Anniston Bennett Is really incredible because when you first introduce to him he doesn't seem that crazy he wants To buy Charles Blakely’s house and wants to live in the basement. But later on Anniston Bennett starts to go absolutely ballistic and wants Charles Blakely to stay in the basement with him. The scene with Anniston Bennett  are some of the best moments you will ever see Willem Dafoe In a film whether it is Anniston Bennett telling Charles Blakley to give him a book Or him violently trying to choke Charles Blankly in the basement while he is in the cage it does lead to some downright horrifying and very messed up moments in the film but it works because You could say Willem Dafoe is playing The Joker in this movie the way he  playing mind games with Charles Blakely. I still think Anniston Bennett is up there with Galactus from Fantastic 4 First Steps as one of the best villains of 2025. The chemistry between him and Corey Hawkins is terrific.

However the best thing about this movie is the directing by Nadia Latif because for this being her directorial debut she still does a magnificent job directing this film because what I love about her directing is that she does a magnificent job of making you sympathize with Charlie Blankly Because this is a guy that's having a lot of bad luck in particular having his house being taken away having a during psycho live in his basement and you really want him to get Anniston Bennett  out of his house and out of his basement so he doesn't try to kill him. I also like how she develops the character of  Anniston Bennett because make a villain both somewhat down-to-earth but also really disturbing because this is a guy who's obsessed with Charles Blankly and wants him to stay with him forever in the basement because he believed that Charles Blakely is his friend. I think it is really incredible how she did that. I am looking forward to what she's going to direct in the future.

So in conclusion I really enjoyed this film the storyline was really disturbing but really interesting haven't revolved around this guy who is about to lose his house and then this random guy decides to stay in the basement and essentially manipulates and tortures Charles blankly into being his best friend is a really creepy and disturbing concept and the film executes it perfectly. To be honest the storyline is probably up there with The storyline in Warfare With Joseph Quinn as one of the best storylines of 2025. Also the performances are really amazing the obvious big standout is Willem Dafoe Because he gives one of the most creepiest but one of the most charismatic performances of the entire film because you get to tell that he is having a lot of fun in the film as the character Anniston Bennett  because again you can view this performance as a prototype version of him playing the Joker in a Batman movie because there are some similarities to the Joker and Anniston Bennett because both of them like to manipulate the main character in both of them are really crazy and really downright psychopathic. Also Anniston Bennett is probably up there with The High Evolutionary from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 as one of the best villains of the 2020s. This is probably one of Willem Dafoe’s most entertaining films because I do think films like Murder On The Orient Express, Togo, The Lighthouse, and Spider-Man No Way Home are better Willem Dafoe films. But this one it's still one of his most entertaining films. I have to say this film is probably up there with The long walk with Mark Hamill as one of the best films of 2025. I highly recommend you watch this film especially if you like really creepy and suspenseful films like Locked with Bill Skarsgard. Then I'm sure you're going to like this film. I give this film a 10/10.

Here is My Movie Review of Blue Beetle

Here is My Movie Review of Blue Beetle Now when I saw the trailer for this movie I was really interested and the funny thing is I was more...
