Here is My TV Show Review of the Sandman

Here is My TV Show Review of the Sandman

So basically what happens is that you have this guy who lives in the dream world named Dream and he has been captured by this family and he has put in change And then he escapes and he finds out that someone has stolen his red jewel And he has to do everything in his power to get back. Then you have this guy named Dr Destiny who essentially wants to bring nightmares into the real world And it's up to him to take down Dr. Destiny and restore bounce to the dream dimension and the real world. That is basically what the story is for this Show.

The acting in the show is phenomenal. I think everyone does a phenomenal job playing the characters.

Tom Sturridge absolutely nailed it as the character of Morpheus/Dream. Morpheus/Dream is a character that you basically want to see succeed because at first he doesn't really talk. But once you find out that his drawer is missing he wants to do everything and his power to find it and You really want him to succeed in bouncing the dream world and the real world as well. Probably my favorite scene with Dream is where he explains about the sleeping sickness which implies that he is to give people dreams or else they can't wake up. The chemistry between him and Gwendoline Christie, Patton Oswalt, Stephen Fry, Unity James Young, Vanesu Samunyai, Eddie Karanja, and David Thewlis is really amazing

Vanesu Samunyai does a tremendous job as the character of Rose Walker. Rose Walker is a character Who really wants to find her younger brother. Probably the best scene with Rose Walker where she tells her younger brother The place that they're in is not happening and it's just a dream. It is probably One of the most  emotional scenes in the whole series. The chemistry between her and Tom Sturridge is marvelous

Gwendoline Christie does an awesome job as the character of Lucifer. Lucifer basically wants to take all of Morpheus/Dream's powers away And she is helping Dr Destiny by letting the nightmares into the real world. Probably my favorite part with Lucifer is where she and Morpheus/Dream go into a mental battle to see who will win and to  become the most powerful being. The chemistry between her and Tom Sturridge Awesome.

Stephen Fry does a  remarkable job as the character of Gilbert. Gilbert is a character that he basically wants to help Morpheus/Dream into fixing the dream dimension and preventing the nightmares from coming into the real world. Probably the best scene with Gilbert is in the final episode of season 1 where it's revealed that he is not really a human he is a place and all he wants to do is to turn back into the place he was before he became human. The chemistry between him and Tom Sturridge is astounding.

Patton Oswalt does an awesome job as the character of Matthew the Raven. Matthew the Raven is a character who wants to help Morpheus / Dream balance the dream dimension and prevent the nightmares from coming into the real world. Probably my favorite scene with Matthew the Raven is when he and Morpheus / Dream meet for the first time and at first he doesn't want his help. But eventually they team up to save the world. The chemistry between him and Tom Sturridge is remarkable.

Eddie Karanja does a great job as the character of Jed Walker. Jed Walker is a character who you really feel bad for because his uncle Barnabe  locked him in the basement as a punishment and he also wants to be reunited with his older sister Rose Walker. Probably the best scene is where Jed Walker meets Morpheus/Dream and he thinks he is a villain at first until Morpheus/Dream explains that he is good. The chemistry between him and Tom Sturridge is really fantastic

Sandra James Young does a great job as the character of Unity Kincaid. Unity Kincaid Is a character who really wants to help Morpheus/Dream bouncing the dream world and preventing the nightmares from coming to the real world. probably my favorite moment with Unity Kincaid. It's where she reveals to Rose Walker in the final episode of season 1 that she is dead in the real world but she remains a dream in the dream world.  The chemistry between her and Tom Sturridge is really tremendous

However I don't think this show would have been nearly as awesome and terrific as it was if it weren't for the spectacular performance by David Thewlis as the character of Dr. Destiny. Dr Destiny is a terrific and intimidating villain. Dr Destiny's villainous motivation is really dark because essentially he wants to bring all the nightmares into the real world to cause mayhem and destruction in order to roll the dream dimension. I'm going to say this I think Dr Destiny is up there with the likes of The Riddler from The Batman as one of the best DC super villains of 2022. I also like how he pretends to be nice to people in order to find Morpheus/Dream and take over the dream dimension. He really reminds me of Loki from the infinity saga because in The Infinity Saga he also pretends to be nice to people in order to take over the world. Probably my favorite moment of Doctor Destiny is pretending to be nice to Jed Walker. But in reality he is trying to kill him. The rivalry between him and Morpheus/Dream is phenomenal. The chemistry between him and  Tom Sturridge is phenomenal. Fun fact David Thewlis is the same actor who also portrayed Aries in Wonder Woman.

The special effects in the show are really great, probably the best special effect is the fire In hell.

So in conclusion I really enjoyed this show. I think this is one of the best DC shows. I think it's up there with HBO Max’s Peacemaker as one of the best superheroes shows. I'm looking forward to season 2 when it gets released. I give this show 10/10.
